MGB: Canales' heartfelt statement at presser
CaliMeanGreen replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Keep those gas stations bathrooms clean and the slurpee machine is broke -
Canales was never interviewed for the job in 2010.

Canales won't be at UNT next season. Beat LA Tech is all that matters right now. Win for the school, the players and the seniors.

DRC Monday column: Canales providing spark again
CaliMeanGreen replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Wait....did KingDL just say he doesn't want to knock Canales? -
http://ntdaily.com/local-bar-owner-offers-football-fans-ticket-package/ This right here is reason enough to get a game ball. As I said from day one, no matter what happens in the 7 games he won't be at UNT next year. You can chill out UNT90, go have a slurpee.

My slurpee was too runny today

MGB breaking news -- Three suspended for tonight's game
CaliMeanGreen replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Consequences for social media at this point is not playing time suspension. The consequences for social media are handled during practice, or after practice. The suspensions today were not due to social media. -
I have some major complaints about my experience visiting my local 7-11 and the customer service I experienced there. Going to start a message board about it. It is unacceptable the way that company is going, someone needs to hear about it. I know I am not a architect, Doctor, weatherman, lawyer, nor do I think I could ever do those jobs. But everyone seems to think they are and could be a great football coach. GMG

Just an FYI: Canales was calling plays for the white team yesterday and Coach Q was for the Green Team. GMG -
Has a starter been named at QB for SMU?
CaliMeanGreen replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
Welcome back KingDL1. 5 years, so quick to forget last years offense was the offense to put up the most yards in MeanGreen history. +9wins. and I will help you with your comeback... Yes I know Canales and support him. -
I will be there. Would love to tailgate with some of you before the game. Can I get an invite to any MeanGreen tailgates?

Announcement coming on Monday

Sounds like today might be the day
CaliMeanGreen replied to pastorgrant's topic in Mean Green Football
Here's an idea. Let the coaches who spend all day everyday watching film, evaluating practice, seeing effort in the weight room and offseason workouts, etc. choose who should be the starting QB should be. Nobody wants to win more than the coaches and players. The QB that will give us the best possibility to win every game will play I assure you. -
I will be there.

McNulty utilizing experience in QB race
CaliMeanGreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
The QB race is between two QB's right now, not 3. The third is quickly falling off the map. In college football talent only takes you so far. QB must know the offense in all situations, put in time in the film room, study the playbook, etc. If you don't do that, then you ride the bench. Period -

When I do the Math after taking 9-4 I always get the sum of: Most Total Yards of Offense in the history of all UNT offensive Teams. Nuff Said

I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so. Not a good situation to step into, having to keep 4-5 assistants from previous staff is not a good place to start. KingDL will tell you all about "having to" to keep assistants from the previous staff is not good No money there to buy out contracts, or put into the facilities. Canales will be a HC someday, but not this year. Exactly what I said 2 weeks ago. I am excited for another MeanGreen season, and to be bowling again next fall. CUSA Champs!

Sam Houston State Fans Poll and Discuss HC Candidates
CaliMeanGreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I have said this from the beginning, this isn't going to happen. He will be the OC at UNT next season. Not a good scenario or situation to walk into for a first time HC job. Those of you that want Chico here at UNT, sleep easy he will be- 5 replies

KP is a great hire, he is an incredible motivator. He is a true players coach. Yes he did coach JPP, but surprisingly most of you are leaving out one of your local boys. The Cowboys George Selvie. Talk about impressive, go back and look at Selvie's college stats. Canales, Simmonds, Wintrich, Patrick and Mac. UNT quickly turning into what the coaches call it USF West
-
KP!! So excited he is joining the staff. He played at Miami, has a national championship ring. Played with Sapp, and the Rock. He is an amazing recruiter, incredible coach. He and Canales go way back. Patrick was on the original staff at USF, he left and came back to USF just like Canales. This is amazing hire!

MGB: Could Canales be in play at UAB?
CaliMeanGreen replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Canales isn't going anywhere anytime soon. After 4 years of hard work and UNT is finally back on the College Football scene, he would be a fool to leave now. Next year will be just as good or better than this year. My opinion: Dajon Williams will be an incredible QB, and the Canales playbook will now be able to open some chapters that haven't been opened since Groethe and BJ Daniels at USF. -
MGB: Could Canales be in play at UAB?
CaliMeanGreen replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Preach on my man. Don't forget that Lance Dunbar's records were under the 2 years he played under Canales. I agree Lance is a special player, but you can't argue that he played 1/2 of his career under Canales calling the plays. No matter what KingDL says, I will brag about the work Canales has done at UNT. So what if I am part of his family, that means I know more than most what he has given and sacrificed for the success and turn around of the UNT football program. Canales will get his chance as a HC, but it won't be this upcoming season. I hope Canales stays at UNT for a long time, I love Denton, I have grown to love the MeanGreen. And can't imagine cheering for UNT on Saturdays next year and watching the Meangreen win another bowl game. -

This won't happen, like most of you stated not a good place to be a HC. He will be in Denton next year.
