  1. Seemed like WVU had been trending downward in basketball as is..... this honestly gives Wren cover to fire him if he wants to reset
  2. He didnt make the move because "the grass was greener". He made it to move up in his career. Bigger schools = bigger headaches.
  3. What a badass. RIP.
  4. I mean you have to assume College of charleston will be involved?
  5. NonCon Home Duke UTA La Tech Texas A&M COmmerce LSU Mizzou Southern Nazarene Vermont (why not) Non Con Away texas (so I can go and make it back quickly) texas state (see above) A&M (see above) Houston (need to get my deli fix) College of Charleston (my wife wants to go here again so this gives me an excuse) tournament in beautiful tropical locale Georgetown - need to get our picture with Joe Biden to celebrate our NIT championship
  6. Burton is wearing green. It's fine Just win games and represent the university in a positive matter. I don't care.
  7. Before all the right wingers come and lose their shit over this, UNT has always had solid multicultural center programming: https://idea.unt.edu/multicultural-center It's nice that they'll move this out of the Union and into their own building.
  8. Man, sure would be nice to have some other sports to help ride the momentum of our men's basketball team. I know its a ways away, but I feel like UNT sports excitement dips quickly, especially as the softball team isnt doing so hot

  9. If people are poaching our players and coaches it means we're doing something right. It feels a lot better when I hear the national media go "he built a winner at North Texas" versus what I've heard far too often after the Dickey (don't tell me about those 4 NO Bowls, he was 42-64), Dodge, McCarney and Littrell (yes he was .500 but his teams got boring to watch) years.
  10. Let's be honest, GMac wore some solid kicks during his time as HC. Since he's wearing red now, how can we get ahold of his sweet green kicks? 🤣
  11. All three of these can be true. Tech was in the natty 5 years ago and almost won. Red Raiders draw well because well what else do you do in Lubbock , and yes, we still struggle with attendance He's been interviewing for some time - it was always a matter of when. A championship is not a bad way to go out. I'd rather he go out this way than going out losing 25 games. I'm more pissed at the size of the buyout. That's barely Stormy Daniels money.
  12. Grants getting 3x the money in the premier Bball conference in a place where he built his coaching chops and met his wife with the only show in town. he and we will be ok
  13. They were transitioning to D-1 (look at non con schedule) and he lost his best player halfway through
  14. George Dunham, Sean Bass, Cynthia IZaguirre, all are big supporters Also, we have to do big things to get shouted out....
  15. As one poster put in an earlier thread, COVID had a lot to do with hurting mid major momentum IMHO. I know its 3 years in the future, but I feel like we missed that momentum lift in 2020 and 2021
  16. This is a great point. I remember seeing that small celebration in Indianapolis and wondering what if… it killed fan momentum for mid majors more than anything
  17. Funny enough, their football program is the same. The current football coach is 52-13 and that's considered underperforming
  18. I remember Wren tweeting about this guy awhile back.... he's visiting University of Buffalo today- anyone interested in him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_McCollum
  19. I don't think we're ever going to actually light the tower on this collective
  20. In coaching you're either elevated or terminated. It's a good sign for your program when a coach is elevated. We've had too many terminations here in all sports. Grant will win at Tech, but he'll also get to be in the same conference with 2 of his coaching buddies in Jerome Tang and Scott Drew.
