A buddy and I are coming up from Plano and are looking for a tailgate to join (no ,I'm not interested in my fraternities alumni tailgate) We'll bring beer and mexican meat (that meat is amazing) if need be. PM me or reply on here- we'll be getting there around 10. Also, if anyone needs help with preparation we can do that.

Great Letter to the editor in today's D-RC

Athletics isn't going away, and where else can you get 30k alumni and fans of the school out together and supporting the University? Denton's long been a drinking town with a college problem, if Denton residents can embrace this University, they will see their cities fortunes change for the better. -
PLEASE LET ME GO HOME WITH YOU!!!!

Tim Cowlishaw Top 6 Big 12 Expansion Candidates

we may have large alumni numbers, but we don't act like it. Let's fill the stadium and turn our potential into action -
The players can market themselves... when in class, show up be attentive, and talk to students about the team. Dan Mccarney does a good job of it and I'd expect a guy whose getting a full scholarship to do the same thing. It's interesting- I had class with a lot of basketball players and they always promoted themselves. Josh White did a great job of it.

How awesome is it to be a freshman class of 2015 at the University of North Texas right now? I remember when I started back in 06, we had an enormous amount of problems athletically, and educationally and didnt know where the future lied for UNT. Now these freshman come in with a new stadium, renewed commitment to athletics (baseball program by the time they're seniors?) winning basketball program, new business and life science facilities, a fresh $22 million donation, plus $8 million more, and I'm sure more on the way, and new fraternity house construction (more people living on campus please) Not only this, they get free seats in the stadium. Oh, and Fry Street construction should be complete by their sophomore years. I'm jealous of them. What a great time to be a freshman. Now, if only the City of Denton could do its part.

This donation pales in comparison to the amount of money UNT would receive if we still had the great darrel dickey as coach

New UNT Stadium Naming rights - Apogee

20 years at $1 million a year.... bargain for Apogee -
If I had to do it over again, I'd have gone to UTSA for a year then UT. Why? I'm a big city guy, and UT offered more cultural programming in my realm (yes thats a very vague description) I also did not like the city of Denton, and the fact that save for a stint in South America and one semester in DC I've lived in the area my whole life now is more important. (i'd like to like in central texas someday, if I dont get to the big city) I think the networking thing is huge too. UNT is getting better at this (just look at our collin county mixer turnout) but we need a more downtown dallas presence. Why? All the business is down there. What I would like to see is my alma mater's acceptance rate at 55-60%, not 75%. I want my child to feel honored that he was accepted to UNT, and treat it that way. Having 2 days between when I applied and when I was accepted makes it feel like I was going to Quad C or whatever it is called now. If I'm living in the area, I want my kid going out of state, because he/she needs to experience new things.

Regardless of whether you start drinking at 13 or 18 or 21, I guarantee you in situations where binge drinking is common (football games, jimmy buffet concerts, my cousin's wedding, GOVT 1050, spring break, breaking up with a girlfriend, basketball games, NFL sunday tv watching) people will binge drink. Responsibility is thrown out the window. I mean crap, it's an American tradition to drink excessively during these events, so that license would not be necessary
