  1. It'd be great if we made it to a bowl and didn't get blown out.
  2. I was wondering about the schedule. Right now Memphis and SMU are on our schedule for 2023 as noncon... does that mean we have 2 fresh new dates opened up ?
  3. I would say the graduates of the past 10-12 years have gotten more ingrained with more school spirit than prior classes, which will help overall. I'm not bashing classes in early 2000s, 90s, 80s, 70s, but I do know there's been much more concentrated school spirit effort on behalf of the university
  4. Not sure how this affects baseball, Seth's buyout or whatever, but here are some new regents.... https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governor-abbott-appoints-three-to-university-of-north-texas-system-board-of-regents-
  5. Love that 3 CUSA championships are being contested in Denton and one only 30 min away. Testament to our facilities and to Wren and the team.
  6. 100% does. Better than "North Texas is one of the only teams with a losing record to play in a bowl game"
  7. Watched the game last night. Nice that we got a positive mention, even though Hope doesn't play for us anymore. I could see us making a run to the WCWS with DeLong as our head coach!
  8. Anyone else coming to the Austin caravan tonight?
  9. I like a lot of the points here. A few things: 1. Yes, it kind of sucked to watch Southern Miss, La Tech, Texas State, DBU etc on ESPN (SMiss has some awesome fan support) going head to head with some P5 programs this past weekend and feeling like we're missing an opportunity. 2. I love the format of the NCAA baseball tournament 3. While our softball program was great (was really fun to watch the regional final on ESPN) theres that nice bridge a men's baseball program offers in the spring after basketball 4. I feel like Wren's strategy is get all the others sports in a row before adding more, which is respectable and puts us on a better track record for success and I feel like is already paying dividends (see: mens and womens basketball, softball, volleyball kind of) 5. I'm sure baseball is expensive so the question is where would we find another donor(s)? 6. I think its definitely a matter of when not if, it just might take 5-10 years. Feel like the priority is building other facilities and bolstering our current programs, which isn't a bad thing.
  10. I love when we have some motivation going into the season.....
  11. Dude, he graduated. No loyalty issues, just is looking to something new. Its a new world, he's taking advantage of it.
  12. shanice stephens or mike peterson? cause they both sucked
  13. No tailgating without Rick V Rick V always believed in Johnny Jones Helped (with students) build Apogee Got the ball rolling in a lot of other sports Huge ambassador for the university His misses were Benford, Dodge, and the whole Mattress Mac debacle (but honestly Mattress Mac is an egomanical clown.. who does some good in Houston) but he's a huge ambassador for the university. Wren's the next level, but Rick got the train on the track
  14. She's not involved in any. She is trying to break in to the marketing world, specifically as it relates to marketing at tradeshows
  15. Hey everyone, I know this part of the board is the part where everyone dabbles in controversey, but perhaps we could use it to help alums (so they get jobs and can help pay Seth Littrell's buyout) I have a new UNT grad here in Austin who is trying to get into tradeshow marketing - its not my realm of expertise but there has to be one or two of you on here that do it as part of your job. Would anyone be open to an informational interview with her?
  16. highland park is not a bad public school to go to.........
  17. Exactly. If Grant gets a fat raise, so be it. Only loyalty he should have is to his family. I do think neglecting athletics and the alumni base for 30 years is really coming around to bite us when we need it the most.
  18. Seriously though. I know he had a ton of family here, which is why I feel like we've got a pretty good advantage.
  19. Am I right that Mccasland has 40 some odd family members in Dallas?
  20. I hope Grant has this team focused and ready for tomorrow. You didnt get into the NCAA's, but you are going to the NIT. Chance to play in front of the home crowd multiple times.
  21. Another year. Another ncaa tournament. Proud of him - always wish success on a great unt ambassador
  22. There is nothing more I want than an alum of this university, who sells this university day in and day out and who is a great ambassador, to have a ton of success with a team at this university. I really hope we can shock the world here
  23. I think past success (FB and BB helped) still think we're also still recovering from 30 years of neglect
  24. I am so nervous about content like this out there before we actually get a bid....
