  1. So much of college football is about regional rivalries. There was an article I read recently about WVU fans still pining for the days where they played Penn State and Pitt frequently. Rivalries like nebraska/OU, KU/Mizzou, and now ones like USC/Cal, the apple cup will all go away too because of this. Obviously realignment has benefitted us in getting us with Texas schools, but I dont think people will care much about a UCLA- Iowa game or Arizona State- Baylor as much as people think they will. Heck... even Texas- Vanderbilt will get dumb after awhile
  2. Yeah this is my first grill, so i want to get the basics down. I dont have room yet for another grill. TBH, i should've bought a smoker/ gas combo, but wanted to master things first
  3. Have you smoked at all on the propane grill? I wanted to do that
  4. Amidst all the political talk, I feel like I needed a topic on here that could get a lot of deep discussion. Question for all: What are your go to BBQ recipes? Propane Grill? Gas? Smoker? What are you cooking now? What are you trying to cook? Reason for posting: I just got a propane grill and want to figure out some fun recipes to cook on there
  5. Feel like many a student went to their first country concert at RR...
  6. Yep, Don Ward is Austin alum and owns it. Has gotten a lot of press recently.
  7. Yeah but his big failure was being 16-21 with SoFla. Otherwise, he's been a consistent winner - 3 winning seasons at UCONN, 4 straight winning seasons at ECU and 6 straight at La Tech, including 6 straight bowl wins , all schools had rough budgets. Granted, maybe that's his niche.
  8. While this could be in another board section, I figured more folks might be able to help on the football board. My ask: does anyone know businesses owned/operated by UNT alums in Central and South Texas? So far I have: Hula Hut Lamberts A real estate agents/ insurance folks Austin Gourmet Popcorn Laundris Could use some more help (especially around restaurants, bars, booze, etc)
  9. Still knows how to win regardless. Other USFL coaches went 1-8
  10. Wren's gotta be hitting him up for a donation once the taxes clear....right?
  11. Hey an llc only costs $400. Take unt tickets as a business expense
  12. Got an interesting email from athletics about the new ticket packages.....https://meangreensports.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=WMB&linkID=unt-athletics&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode= I like the effort, I do fear it might devalue tickets if we're handing them out for free.
  13. They dont count for much but there is a national audience on them and every time we've played we've S*** the bed.
  14. I just havent seen any improvement from Seth. Look at NT's other programs- all have shown improvement... except football. Yet football is the moneymaker. Seth is the 2nd highest paid coach in conference - he should coach like it. One good win in past 3 years- UTSA. Skip Holtz had garbage facilities and support yet he had 5 straight winning seasons, and 6 bowl wins. There's no innovation in the offense, no fire, no adjustments. 2 mil shouldnt get me mediocrity
  15. I think by the end there were like 50 of us students. We stormed the field twice that year, once for smu and once for this.
  16. Bro, it was so bad we stormed the field after that game
  17. I feel like some coaches are required (?) to do it? I saw once where danny mac donated 25k
  18. Watch Quinn be at SMU or UNT in a few years
  19. AAC Softball is going to be fun. They sent 3 teams to the NCAA tournament this year. Ranked 18, 38 and 39 in RPI.
  20. LAtech UTEP or SHSU isnt bad.... Theyll all bring fans.
  21. It'd be great if we made it to a bowl and didn't get blown out.
  22. I was wondering about the schedule. Right now Memphis and SMU are on our schedule for 2023 as noncon... does that mean we have 2 fresh new dates opened up ?
  23. I would say the graduates of the past 10-12 years have gotten more ingrained with more school spirit than prior classes, which will help overall. I'm not bashing classes in early 2000s, 90s, 80s, 70s, but I do know there's been much more concentrated school spirit effort on behalf of the university
  24. Not sure how this affects baseball, Seth's buyout or whatever, but here are some new regents.... https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governor-abbott-appoints-three-to-university-of-north-texas-system-board-of-regents-
