  1. The obsession a few of you have with Art Briles is kinda weird to be honest. At least 100 Schools from NAIA to FBS have had head coaching searches in the past few years and not one has seriously considered Briles. That should tell you everything. Instead he’s coaching in Italy which if I’m being honest is probably a nice retirement gig. He’s 67, never apologized for creating the culture of sexual assault he did at Baylor, and hasn’t coached fbs in 7 years. If Liberty, which would be his most likely landing spot (maybe Oral Roberts if they had a team) didn’t even consider him why would we? There are plenty of good coaches without a past that’d be great here. and if you’re doing this to troll the board…. I admire the consistent trolling
  2. Money wise yes. But the top players are defecting over there yet
  3. I like the Gardner hire and what Wren had tasked her to do, she just started and I think she could make some positive inroads with regards to branding, NIL and leadership. When you say people he's tried to oust- is that Capper, Adams, etc? I dont mind Capper (he does what he's supposed to do) and Adams could be more creative, but who else? I'm glad they got rid of Batchelder. I like Peck, I could see him going with Wren.
  4. Is this a college bowl thread or a conversation debating the merits of neglected urban cores?
  5. Kason had a happy thanksgiving. His season ended and he tossed the pigskin around with his family, ate some turkey, and really looked forward to his break. he’s looking forward to providing you all with more updates next season
  6. Our fans are a way too fickle and apathetic to waste thanksgiving weekend on a rivalry game. I definitely think the game should be some time in november though
  7. This 100%. Literally a participation banner.
  8. I hope the majority of people reading this thread know who this man is...
  9. Leadership experience- Yes Worked in small and large organizations - Yes (Dallas and Argyle, so he knows how both types operate) Would go for slightly less than $1.8 million - Yes Knows the area - Yes Would not use this as a stepping stone - Yes Would appeal to the donors - Yes (insert political comment here) Would replace a 29 year old QB with others with more potential - Yes Knows how to grow an organization - Yes Has more personality than Seth Littrell - Yes Could raise money - Maybe
  10. Grant has a 5 year track record of doing great things, the flu has apparently decimated the team (get your shots people) .... St Marys is good, would've been nice to get a Q1 but it didnt happen
  11. Had no idea my thread about CUSA’s new media rights deal would turn into a dick measuring contest but I guess that’s internet message boards for you
  12. I'd rather our championship hopes not come down to a do or die game at Rice. I think Seth knows this is a last stand and hope the effort shows
  13. https://unoprivateers.com/news/2022/11/9/general-university-of-new-orleans-students-reject-proposed-student-experience-fee.aspx I remember the fierce debate we had on campus in 2008 about our student service fees... imagine if that didnt pass.
  14. I don’t think he means that as an insult.
  15. One thing that works against them is they play at Raymond James… which is well off campus. Ucf passed em in short order thanks to winning and commitments to growing facilities
  16. On January 8, 2010, Leavitt was fired after an investigation by USF officials found that he had struck a player in the locker room during halftime of a game against Louisville the previous November 21. Leavitt claimed he was merely trying to console the player and never struck him. School officials found that Leavitt was not truthful about what happened, and also found that he had interfered with the investigation.[7] ESPN's Ivan Maisel reported that Leavitt's interference, which included telling several players and coaches to change their stories, was the biggest factor in the decision to fire him.[8] The Tampa Tribune reported that school president Judy Genshaft and athletic director Doug Woolard felt they had no choice but to fire Leavitt after he refused to admit he had done anything wrong.[9] Running backs coach Carl Franks was named interim coach of the Bulls[10] until January 14, 2010, when Skip Holtz was hired as head coach.[11]
  17. It's the same in the corporate world. There are floor raisers, and ceiling raisers, and. those who specialize in stabilizing unstable (there's a corporate word or term here and I am missing it) situations Seth just passed DD in wins, but let's be honest... a 43-42 record doesn't move the needle when it comes to Texas, and the greater south football.
  18. You’ve gotta win early at unt. Otherwise people lose interest
  19. Appreciate this post. He’s the second highest paid conference (formerly the highest by a wide margin). I expect him to perform like that. what’s his CUSA record? What’s his record in bowl games? He’s currently 1-4 against future aac teams (win against fau and I count unlv as a higher conference team as well) we can appreciate what he did this year but also understand this is the standard for what we’re paying him
  20. I think some of you are mistaken as to what a "golden age" actually means.
  21. Lol I’ve kinda heard the exact same thing. Met him at a tailgate and thought he was kind of a dodo
