This won't matter when we start winning and winning consistantly because the 93k UNT alum in the DFW area will start jumping on the Mean Green bandwagon like crazy. Just look at what happened with the Rangers this year.

I think the Pit is great as well, no need to replace it just some improvements to make it a better atmosphere. I like the idea of painting the awning green to give it a little more character, I hadn't thought of that before. Other than the better video boards at each end and putting the writers/broadcasters somewhere else to fill in those center court seats, there are just a few other things that should be done. The better concessions and team store are great ideas but I also think the money needs to be spent to strengthen the roof and get a jumbotron hung. That along with being able to do something with the lights when we run out and when our starting lineup is announced would make the Pit an even better atmosphere for basketball and would draw in more students as a result.

I know it might be a little costly but students turn out in large numbers for free stuff. Just look at the annual free t-shirt nights we've had the past few years where the student section was pretty full. And thats just for shirts that say "Class of ___" There needs to be a few games where "Pit Crew" shirts and gear are given away and not just to those who show up early but to every student that shows up. This will increase student attendance as well as interest in what the Pit Crew is because students will see their peers on campus wearing these shirts and they will want in. Which brings me to my next suggestion, the sale of "Pit Crew" shirts and gear at the bookstore and Voertman's. We need to make the Pit Crew a "cool" thing to be a part of for those students who arent fans of basketball but will show up if it's the "cool" thing to do. Because it is apparent that we don't have enough students that will take advantage of great basketball on campus FOR FREE.

I agree, that area should definitely be converted. Although I think that the main thing that the Pit needs is a center hung jumbotron. This would make the Pit much more attractive to students and would create a more enjoyable experience for all.

Actually if you are in Denton you can watch the game on the UNT access channel. But if you're in Denton and able to make it to the game I don't see why you would choose to watch it on TV.

Lincoln Riley. I haven't seen any discussion about him being a possibility but he seems to fit the "young and hungry" category, and he is basically Leach's protege.

Norm has interviewed June Jones and Gary Patterson on his show multiple times. Other than the occasional reference by the Musers, Norm is the only respected media personality who has mentioned that we exist more than once a year.

I think some of the people on this board really have very little understanding of what a good football mind Todd Dodge is and how well respected he is in the college coaching community. I agree with most of what TFLF said and I do believe that if he wants to that Dodge would be able to get an offensive coordinator and/or passing game coordinator job at a major D1 school somewhere. I am also very surprised at the people who claim that Todd Dodge has done nothing for our football program. That is complete bulsh. He has improved our program in pretty much every area except wins. And while I know that wins are all that matter in the end, I still fully believe that had the team that started at Clemson stayed healthy we would have won the Sun Belt.

I'll give tis a shot: I'm a current student for what it's worth 1.UNT 2.3 3.Green with white UNT and most current eagle design in white arranged like TCU helmets 4.Green on green home; white on white road 5.It's cool until expansion time. Then fill in that endzone and double deck the student side and possibly add small bleachers to AC endzone so that the team has a tunnel to run through. (I think tunnels are good) 6.Scrappy although I hate mascots because they are annoying and SG(jake-z drop) 7.Current green (i guess thats kelly?) 8.C-USA but eventually I would love a redone version of old SWC 9.Mark that under who gives a S 10.Same as answer to #9 11.MEH 12.MEH 13.MEH P.S. for what it's worth I think that TD should be given another year if for nothing more than the fact that he was promised a new stadium when he took the job and because of the ridiculous amount of injuries this year. Plus it would be a beating to start all over with a new coach and Franchione is a spare!

Having played at Ford in high school and having stood at ground level of our new stadium I can say very confidently that ours will be much better and more unique than ford. The big difference that I love about ours is how the horseshoe backs up to the AC rather than a grassy hill. I think that will make ours look much more big time. Plus I think that ford is just very plain and ordinary.
