This is where I'm staying as well. Rooting for Stone, but think they give it to Morris unless someone else completely runs away with it. Ruder looked great in the spring, but I have the same deer in the headlights concern from a few years ago as well. I truly believe they're all getting better coaching/development and am hopeful that any of the 3 will be a pleasant surprise this year.

2023 TBT Games - Bleed Green [Official thread]

We’re up 33-29 with 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. We were down early then Reese caught fire and now it’s back and forth. -
Interested in everyone’s thoughts on the scrimmage. Love that coach has them open. You all know more than me but my few observations: We are still going to be a great running team. Kicker and Punter are going to be tough to replace. Field goals did not look great. QB Battle still looks open. Definitely think they want it to be Chandler but he didn’t show much today. Stone came in next and looked solid after his 1st drive. Jace threw two really nice deep balls, but also a couple of coulda/shoulda been interceptions. Grant just doesn’t seem to have it anymore. Limited mobility and deep ball still floats and wobbles like last year. I don’t know enough on the defensive side to judge how well they are progressing in the new system.

Replacement candidates for Jalie?
GreenBacker replied to Dannymacfan's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Any chance we consider the TWU coach? They had a pretty amazing season and won the same league that Angelo State is in. I think it’s got to be hard to recruit to a school with only women’s sports. Could do well with UNT’s resources and obviously already knows the area. -
CUSA Women's Tourney: vs. UAB (3.8.23)

Halftime UAB up 40-36. We were up 34-25 with 5 minutes left in the half. UAB closed it on a 15-1 run. -

Watched him play against Guyer this year. Only reason he’s a walk on has to be size. Throws one of the bast fade routes I’ve ever seen in HS. -
Breaking: 3 Commits this weekend for North Texas

Maybe Baylor transfer kicker too? -
Sure missed JJ last night. He was the answer to stop these kind of guys.

Pretty sure I saw Gush was the DC at UIW.

Do you think we would have any interest in Brent Jackson from Bucknell? Smart kid, former Guyer player. Looks like he was really good at FCS level. I remember his older brother played at Northwestern. https://twitter.com/the__bluebloods/status/1606366416797458432?s=46&t=oKZsgsT04wac43qbMpbPuw

As much as I would hate to see Mac go. I think we will be just fine with Ross Hodge. Kids love him and he’s the brains behind our defense.
-
I think it’s Stone as well, or somebody much better we bring in. Googling Stone’s offers, I found this tweet. Looks like Incarnate Word was his first offer in HS, and I believe Morris would have been the coach. If so, there’s at least some familiarity there.

North Texas Football Staff Tracker
GreenBacker replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in Mean Green Football
Just because they aren’t allowed to doesn't mean they can’t. I feel better about our QB situation with Earle or Heard or anyone else we bring in to be developed with the new staff. -
The man according to Vito.
-
Scored a ton of points in high school. Agree he still looks frantic out there. Keep thinking he’s gonna break through just hasn’t happened.
-
We did touch it. Tried to field it and kind of bounced off his hands straight out of bounds.
-
Still can’t believe he didn’t see the field as we faded down the stretch this season. As I understand the redshirt rule, he can now play in the bowl game and still use a redshirt since it’ll only be his 4th game this season. Am I right on this? Surely he plays in the bowl game if Seth wants to be able to say we have something to look forward to. Right?!
-
I agree that this probably locks Littrell in unless he gets blown out in the next two games, but if they don’t extend him that leaves him as a lame duck going into the last year of his contract which will kill recruiting. So we either fire him, leave him with one year left, or extend and try and get a low buy out to help with recruiting. We’re in a tough spot. Negatives no matter which way we go.
-
Love that he’s playing so well in a contract year. Hope he finally gets a multi year deal.
-
How in the world does Earle not see a snap this game with all of the short yardage situations we had? Saving his redshirt? I don’t understand anything else.

***OFFICIAL FIU VS UNT GAME DISCUSSION THREAD***

High completion percentage at ACU. Just because they’re not letting him throw while burning clock doesn’t mean he can’t throw.
