Opening Game Song Before Kickoff @Apogee
tylermeangreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
It is my understanding that the TSU band will be at Apogee. -
No Joke!

But......But.......You are patting yours based on the fact that he is not patting his. Your postings do get kind of confusing........
-
You have implied that Thompson is lousy but you wanted UNT to pass more against LSU. Pray tell, What am I missing here?
-
As most of you know 3-A Tyler Chapel Hill is the high school that has sent four former Bulldogs to play for The Mean Green: Lairamie Lee Sir Calvin Wallace Rex Rollins Andrew Tucker (Grayshirt) Jeremy Lloyd, who had been the CH wide receivers coach for the past few years, played for Dan McCarney at Iowa State and played a role in Lairamie Lee coming to UNT. I have just learned of another connection from the CH Head Coach, Thomas Sitton. Brelan Chancellor's father is the new wide receivers coach for CH. Just another in what is getting to be quite a CH/UNT connection. GMG

UNT Defensive Stats week 1: Laramie Lee w/11!~
tylermeangreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I understand what you are saying - I had posted essentially the same thing on another thread. HOWEVER, having watched missed tackles after missed tackles over the past six + years I have to say it was quite a joy to watch tackles actually being completed by Lairamie. -
How'd Your Adopted Player Do?
tylermeangreen replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
Pretty good night for Lairamie Lee individually although I don't know that 11 tackles by a safety is what I want to eventually see from the Mean Green as a team. Lairamie was flagged once for pass interference but it was not an act of desperation as a result of the receiver getting past him. Overall, an impressive first-start game for Lairamie and the beginning for what I think will be a great Mean Green career. -
You're welcome volleyball, soccer, tennis, etc

in toto - exactly right! -
I am, too. It would have looked better with a score of 34 - 14........but LSU just wore us down at the end. GMG

Thats' ok - at least we got a clarification. We were told, what, a year or two ago that this person existed and that he/she would be on the GMG.com board when necessary to provide clarifications or to point out misinformation. I am glad to see this person is still around; I had wondered if this position was eliminated since that announcement - This is the first time I remember any such posting from this person since that announcement. Perhaps he/she will be more active in the future in terms of clarifications and correcting misinformation.

Jeez - can't he just find him-chelf and hurry on down to Denton?

+ 20 Grant!

7pm - 8pm according to unt website - later than last year. I wonder if that has anything to do with practice times?

Well Mark, since you chose to make my concern into some type of political statement, and in a public forum, I will bore everyone with my reply sent to you via email. I am a bit disappointed that you chose to make this statement in this forum, but such is what is. Folks, here is my reply to Mark:

It seems to me that this initiative, and several others that have been developed by the UNT Department of Athletics, should quieten an AD critic or two on this board, and beyond. It is sooooo easy to sit behind a keyboard, point fingers, and criticize what the AD is doing without any real knowledge of what is being created, or the complexity involved in creating these initiatives. There are more initiatives to come - and there will be overwhelming approval of these among the Mean Green Nation. But having said that - and this will allow you to point a finger at me - it does concern me a bit that the AD official announcement for this event, that I received via email, does not mention that ID's are required by the students to attend this event. Without that requirement this event could easily get out-of-hand. I am sure the AD has considered this and made provisions - but not requiring ID's (or stating that ID's are required in the official announcement) does cause me some concern. As Stormchaser says, offer free food and THEY will come. It seems to me that there are a lot of "they's" out there that we really should not encourage to attend this event. GMG

So free food would "seal the deal" for huge student turnout for the lala game?

RV has addressed this directly in more than one venue - once as recently as last Saturday night. He has explained why it happened. He has taken responsibility for the weak home game schedule. He has told us that he, likewise, is not happy with the schedule. But short-term decisions were made; commitments to KSU and Houston are being met; and from this point forward there will be quality 6-home game schedules as the norm. It seems to me that this issue has been talked to death and it is time to move on.

Official 2012 UNT Player Adoption Thread
tylermeangreen replied to MeanGreenTexan's topic in Mean Green Football
I have to take that sophomore safety who i guarantee you will make positive things happen on the field again and again for the next three years - one of the real classy guys to have ever played for the Chapel Hill Bulldogs Lairamie Lee -
.......with the pilgrim sig on the gates. There is also a MASSIVE bust of the guy across from the old corporate offices on 271. The guy does have an over-inflated value of himself - certainly likes the limelight. Oh - don't forget about his passing out $10,000 checks to those Texas State Senators that he supported back in 1989.........the payee's name was left blank, but Bo said it was not a bribe but, instead, a campaign contribution.......while he was standing on the floor of the Texas Senate......... and while the Senate was conducting business on legislation that directly affected his business. The guy was never a shrinking violet! We have great football players in East Texas, and colorful "bidness" men.

Texas State changing name to Armadillos?
tylermeangreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
As former Texas Agriculture Commissioner Jim Hightower once said in relation to middle-of-the-roaders: "There is nothing in the middle of the road but yellow stripes and dead armadillos". -
Ark State reassigns AD for lack of fundraising.

Here we go again.......... -
WOW! A&M by only 6 1/2 over la-tech. If it lives up to billing then A&M is going to have a tough go in their first year in the SEC. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of folks! GMG
