Very different from a bus. Coach seating has plenty of leg-room. The lounge car has lots of glass windows and places to sit with friends and drink and talk. Dining car serves meals in route. And if you want a little......uh......ahem........privacy for the trip then you can rent a room for what such privacy would, uh, provide! I have done just such many times.

Brings back a memory - the first year Jerry Moore coached NTSU after Hayden left we played Kansas at Lawrence. Arrangments were made for Amtrak's "Lone Star" (discontinued in 1979; in fact, our train home from Lawrence was the final "Lone Star" train to run) to stop at Sanger and pick up NTSU fans........Amtrak had an empty car on the train designated for the NTSU fans. Scrappy was on board and we had a great time (although we lost to KU). Anyone else on the GMG board who made that trip?

For those of us who are not big BB fans, as is the case at other times of the year with some of the UNT basketball fans who are not FB fans, it is "dead time".
-
Man, oh man, this home game season has gone by sooooo fast. Seems like only yesterday that it was July/August and we were entering the season with so much excitement. After today we enter almost nine months of dead-time. Regardless, GMG!

Who is Redshirting this Season?
tylermeangreen replied to MeanGreenGlory's topic in Mean Green Football
Projection for Tucker has always been DB. But he played a lot of high-quality LB at Chapel Hill - have not seen him lately so I don't know how he has "filled out" since his senior year. -
He always had a lot of respect for Hayden Fry - and the feeling was mutual.

Who is Redshirting this Season?

I seem to remember Rex Rollins having played in at least one game this season - noticed because I was surprised they would burn the red shirt on him............maybe one of those "look the other way" deals that Harry is talking about. -
I have read this thread twice, from the original posting by someone not-in-the-know but pretending to be, all the way through UNTNewbie’s posting, # 36 on the thread (which set the record straight!). This thread/topic, from the beginning to posting #36, is a perfect example of mis-information, negativity, absolute guessing, cheap shots at Athletic Department personnel, and generally pure BS! Just reading the postings in this topic alone it seems obvious to me that as “friends and supporters” of UNT athletics, that which so many of you boast that you are, given that fact………..God knows this university’s athletic department certainly doesn’t need any outside enemies. Talk about flashing your arse!

THECB Vote on NT Union Fee (Maybe not good)
tylermeangreen replied to Mean Green Matt's topic in Mean Green Football
I am sure that you don't care......... but when you were rjmunthe I banned you from my screen because of your bombastic, condescending, bar-brawling, negative attitude. Now that I have finally figured out you have changed your screen name and who you are/were, I will once again ban you from my screen. From my perspective GL2Greatness is no bigger, or lesser, fool than you. -
After seeing various views of both the alumni and student stands last night, and having been there last year when the announced crowd was in the 30-thousands, i am surprised that the attendance figure is that low.

I don't know how arky state has looked in their prior games but they are certainly impressive tonight. Their speed at most positions is a real concern. I hope McCarney and the players are all watching this game together - it should certainly eliminate any thoughts that arky state is not as strong as was first thought at the beginning of the season. Scary good tonight!
-
And our D-backs are going to have to bring a great, great game against Aplin/receivers.
-
Very good Tuesday night crowd on the alumni side, too.
-
We are going to have our hands full with arky state at homecoming. Speed QB has a great arm Field goal kicker has distance and accuracy
-
Yep, on the student side - I have not seen a view of the "alumni" side (where the cameras are located).

lala was flat-out screwed on that first down ruling!

Jeez - some folks say the same thing about track and field - others say the say thing about volleyball - God knows, others say the same thing about golf, that great university spectator sport. Why don't we just embrace the fact that we have a varied sports program and it would be nice to have even more sports, for those with an interest in the individual sports, to follow. But regardless, all of us should openly support the whole athletic program even when we don't care about some of the individual sports. What a myopic view on your part!

And be of the female gender!

Cracked me up - thanks for the laugh!

Long way to Tyler in the middle of a Tuesday night given a wake-up time of 5 am to go to work.. At least I made the effort to attend for as long as I could. I hated to leave early but I had no choice - I am sure others were in similar situations, especially on the alumni side. It seems to me they really do not need to be chastized for the decision they felt they needed to make.

UNT to open pedestrian bridge to Apogee Stadium Oct.16
tylermeangreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
And understanding that this has occurred over the past 10 - 12 years..........and very little dedication prior to that time..........might we all say in unison "about damned time"!!! It does make an old feller happy..............and proud. -
I notice that at this point you have received a -2........I don't know what in the world there is to minus in your post. It is what it is. Perhaps those who have minused you will do what they should have done in the first place - explain their reason for their negative review.

It's not time to throw in the towel.....

I am certainly counting on that being the case with Sir Calvin!
