Who do you see as North Texas' future rival in CUSA?
tylermeangreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
If they beat us "a couple of times early on" then Dan McCarney has more problems than he expected! -
Sorry, I see virtually no change in attendance NEXT YEAR with our farewell tour of the SBC. But I do see the change you suggest for the fall of 2013.

Just out of curiosity: Should this all come to pass, and the conference is divided as suggested, which division AT THIS POINT looks like the stronger of the two in football? I could make an argument for either, but personally CUSA East ( given Marshall; Southern Miss; FIU; ECU in particular) appears to be the stronger of the two based on recent, and projected future, performance. CBS11 BREAKING: UNT to CUSA (FRIDAY!)

Love the shot, Kram and OldGuyStudent..........Wonder how long it will take the naysayers to swallow hard, wipe off the egg-on-face, and re-appear among us? -
Ragin Cajuns Give Coach A New Contract

As well they should - he has done a great job at LaLa! -
Realignment taking a crazy turn?
tylermeangreen replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
Hey Brother Kram, since the GMG BB and FB games are now over, and you are not doing nuthin' with your time, here is a new project for you! Surely there is a vacant Safeway parking lot somewhere between Denton and HP. -
From what I can gather it is open to all. But in retrospect, it would have been a helluva "perk" to Mean Green Club members to have been allowed first access (maybe the first hour or so of the "garage sale"). GMG

Personally, I am getting tired of the innuendo crap you throw out from time-to-time about how supposedly the UNT women's coach has been wronged by the athletic administration and/or the alumni association. Come on, MAN UP and say what you have to say - or just simply drop it and find another crusade - of which you seem to have many. Rick, your crap about this issue is getting old - especially if you are going to continue to hide behind veiled references. Show your hand - tell us with specifics to which you are referring.

Merger or Sharing- Either way CUSA-MWC Work Together
tylermeangreen replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
You got that right, Silver. I went to LaLa for the first time this past football season and those folks are something else - unbelievable tailgating and many of the tailgaters almost mugged Kram and me trying to give us beer and food. Many of the LaLa folks would just stop us, both before and after the game, and simply thank us for coming to Lafayette and the game. I can only dream that someday our tailgating atmosphere will match LaLa's. GMG -
A pressbox is a nice little item to have. I covered high school football games for the DR-C during my grad school days.....and some of those Class "B" (now known as Class "A") schools either had a pressbox that was too full of locals to accomodate me - or they had a shanty of a pressbox that was not glass-enclosed (often I was cold and/or wet by game's end). So - Have to say that a pressbox is a necessity.

Bull Hyder, one of my former econ profs at NTSU, solved the problem for me with his usage of ......"aeffect". That has worked well for me (except in formal papers) for the past 37 years. GMG

LaLa for sure! For those of you who visited the tailgating environment prior to the UNT/LaLa football game this past fall - along with the fan support at the game itself - you would have to agree that LaLa support is far greater than most of the other universities being considered for the MWC/CUSA merger. I, for one, was astounded......and I know for a fact that some of the UNT Athletic Department staffers were as well. GMG

Greatest High School Running Back You Ever Saw Play?
tylermeangreen replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
Although I was not teaching at Tyler JC then - shoot, I had not even gone through NTSU at that time - I do remember Joe Don Looney when he was playing at OU. So much PO-tential (in my best Hayden Fry impression) but, alas, as with so many.....wasted. You said it all - and I always enjoy finding players with names that reflect the player's ability and personality - and his did! Thanks for bringing back a memory, Wardly. -

Thanks Jeeber - we think we would be a good fit, too. -
2012 Spring Preview - All-Transfer Team
tylermeangreen replied to GreenBat's topic in Mean Green Football
Gonna be a helluva battle for offensive line spots given the young starters returning from last year (who certainly, at the very least, did a creditable job last year). I know for sure they are not just going to roll over and cede their positions to the Feldt brothers! Going into last season most of us were concerned about the offensive line. I, for one, am not concerned any longer. -
Amen, GreenBat, Amen!

SBC Staffer in Hot Springs: "North Texas Is Gone!"
tylermeangreen replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Oh yeah, him. He is very busy patting himself on the back and constantly reminding us that he had told us what was going to happen in so many situations before those situations even occurred. He does like to remind us of his perfection!- 65 replies

Great post, El Paso! But, unfortunately, I think you are preachin' to the choir.

My chuckle for the day! Thanks.

RV podcast rescheduled to next week because of tournament
tylermeangreen replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Thanks, Harry. I, for one, am really looking forward to hearing directly from the AD about what is going on. So many rumors; so much opinion; it is time for the people on this board to hear as much factual information as possible. Obviously, a lot of us are sweating green bullets out here! GMG -
Oh Ricky.....Ricky.....Jeez, is UNT and its supporters, in your mind, allowed to only have one campus-related event occurring on a single evening? I have no idea what Kram's transgression was 19-days ago but your response is just DRIPPING with revenge. I know Kram pretty well - and there are few on this board, or anywhere else within the spectrum that is UNT, that care more about UNT in general, and its athletic program in particular, than he does. And not only does he care - he delivers that caring attitude with his service, giving, and positive attitude. He does not need me to fight his battles - but he will always have my support vs. anyone who questions his motives re: UNT. Unfortunately, I know you only by your postings - your projected image, if you will - and those postings have been filled with much negativity toward the AD (Athletic Director AND the athletic department). I appreciate your support of UNT but have little regard for your recent attitude (not that you should particularly care, I guess). A wise old man once told me that "image is everything" - a good thing to understand, I think.

This is good news, especially for those of us that have already come and gone - some of us, me included, may not have been able to enter our beloved aw-gust institution if higher "entrance standards" had been in affect back in those long-ago days.
