Yeah, I know - and I appreciate the teasin' - but then remember in those "heady" days there were not 35 or so bowls - and the New Orleans bowl was not even a twinkle in New Orlean's eye, much less ours. But might I also suggest that the UT games in the Fry years (and I am not referring to The University of Tennessee) played the role of bowl games for little ole NTSU - and the Mean Green played far better against UT than expected in those soon-to-end days of better administrative support (Jitter Nolen) for athletics. Jordan Case WAS something else, wasn't he Silver? Lets' see if I remember - and tell me if I am wrong - out of Seagoville High School and then transferred to NTSU from Sul Ross. He was a transfer who DID pan out for the Mean Green! He and Fry were quite the tandem. Those were really "heady" days for the Mean Green - days that the "youngsters" on this board can only dream about for their alma mater. But I am getting the feeling that similar days are just ahead of us. GMG

I have four front row seats around the 30-yard line. If you choose to get club seating I really recommend the front row if there are any seats left. Great view; no one to stand in front of you; and you will feel like you are part of the crowd that is seated directly below you. The negative for some is that the first 3 rows are not covered. But what the hay, we sat in the rain and cold throughout the entire MTSU game and felt like we were at a game at Fouts - and it was fun........however, my wife and most of the sane folks stayed on the back two rows or in the club. The food has been very good; the atmosphere is great; but it was the unlimited diet cokes before, during, and after the games that sold me! Our only regret, and it is minor, is we feel like we have to eat the buffet given the enormous price we paid for club seating - and that means we have abandoned our pre-game tradition of eating at Denton's interesting restaurants. I would expect C-USA membership to lead to club seats selling out in the relatively near future. Last year when I bought club seating I gambled that C-USA was in our future and at that point I would be so glad that I purchased club seating when I did.

That may well be the origin of the term "Chinese Fire Drill" but on the streets of Corsicana, as well as Irving, in the early to mid-60s - both cities I lived in prior to high school graduation - Plumm's explanation was exactly what a Chinese Fire Drill was by those of us who were participants.

I won't mention the veto down in Austin about a year or so ago where the veto message emphasized the dastardly loss of freedom created by a legislative ban on texting while driving. I just found it at lsufootball.net (claims no association with LSU) and is the source of all college games scheduled on a particular day - and the broadcast locations for games. It does show 8 PM CDT for the unt/lala game on the 16th of October.

But a long way back to Tyler leaving Denton at 11:30 or midnight - not complaining, just dreading. but, then, it could be possible that the 8 PM time is EST and not CST which would help - most Tuesday night games on ESPN or ESPN2 in the past were 6:30 or 7:00 PM kickoffs.

I thought the stadium was right there by Hwy 49........but I was regularly going through there long ago and did not want to post what might might have been a figment of my imagination or failing memory...........age does that, you know? Again, looking forward to finally visiting the university and the stadium.

Thanks. I, for one, am looking forward to that first game UNT plays in Hattiesburg. My father was a lifer in the Seabees and was stationed in Gulfport long years ago. I have been through Hattiesburg many times on my way from Texas to Gulfport. I recall that Hwy 49 went right by USM. GMG
