  1. The Sunbelt currently has 12 teams (but a few don't play football). I don't see them expanding unless Denver leaves (or a really attractive school becomes available). Denver wants to go to the WCC but yesterday the WCC said they were done with expansion. The WAC may survive as a conference but there is no way it's better for UNT than the Sunbelt. The Sunbelt should be making a move to take away some of the TV time and $$$ that the WAC was getting. It would be a great time for a Sunbelt team or two to pull an upset win this fall. It's interesting that Texas St says the numbers don't work going to the WAC. I thought they may try that route just to get established as FBS school then always be on lookout for new conference.
  2. Time Warner's contract to carry all Walt Disney channels expires at the first of Sept. Walt Disney owns ESPN and several other cable channels. While they own the ABC network, they do not own WFAA the DFW ABC Affiliate. Time Warner and Disney are negotiating over how much to pay per subscriber for all of the Disney channels. ESPN by itself usually gets $4 per subscriber per month. Usually these disputes are settled at the last moment and nobody ever misses a game. However, cable channels and cable systems have been getting more public with their disputes and some have drug on for a longer period (is Versus back on DirectTV yet?). However, I don't think Time Warner will allow ESPN to go off their system.
  3. Sorry if already posted but I saw this on the Sun Belt homepage: 9/4 Clemson - ESPN3.com 9/18 Army - CBS College Sports 10/2 LA-Lafayette - Sun Belt Network 10/16 FIU - Sun Belt Network Full list of Sun Belt TV games: http://www.sunbeltsports.org/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=4100&ATCLID=204968732
  4. On two for one deals, usually there isn't much payment (if any) to the other school. UNT would need to make all their money from the return trip to DFW. For OU and UT, I'd be okay with playing it in Arlington. For any other Big 12 school it needs to be in Denton.
