  1. Way too early to compare him to Coach Harrell or Coach Chico yet cause he hasn’t done anything here.
  2. I think we need a marketing strategy to go after this type of person, the UNT grad or alum who did not connect UNT to big timE athletics back in the day. How can we reach out and get this type of prospect engaged? There are so many!
  3. It’s a good sign for North Texas when a nine-win campaign is considered by many to be a disappointment. Hopes were high that they could make the C-USA Championship Game for a second consecutive season but losses to rivals Louisiana Tech and UAB ruined that opportunity. They finished the regular season with a pair of victories (Florida Atlantic, at UTSA) but got blown to bits by the JUGGERNAUT Utah St Aggies in the New Mexico Bowl. North Texas (hopefully) learned that it’s important to have something better than PURE FILTH as a back-up QB after watching what happened after the first quarter injury to Mason Fine in the aforementioned bowl game. HC Seth Littrell is doing some good work in Denton. Do they have the MINERALS to make another C-USA title run? read more: https://megalocks.co/north-texas-mean-green-2019-college-football-preview/

  4. Proche is entering his 8th year on the Hilltop.
  5. FRISCO — Marshall coach Doc Holliday says recruits “buy with their eyes.” North Texas coach Seth Littrell has noticed that in Texas especially, many of the best players come from high schools with massive stadiums and top-notch weight rooms. A college program needs to provide something that matches or exceeds that bar. UTSA announced last month a plan to break ground in November on a $44 million facilities project that will include a sports medicine center, weight room and covered football practice field. Roadrunners coach Frank Wilson called the facility a “game-changer,” improving UTSA’s standing in the Conference USA facilities arms race. read more: https://www.expressnews.com/sports/college_sports/utsa/amp/UTSA-working-to-keep-pace-in-Conference-USA-14107091.php?__twitter_impression=true
  6. Celebrated Herd Coach Doc Holiday had some thoughts on the infamous “transfer portal,” which has become a hot-button topic among coaches in college football. “I don’t like it, I think the greatest thing that this game teaches you is how to overcome adversity and fight through things, I think to give these kids an easy way out isn’t what’s best. There are certain situations, but that being said were going to take advantage of it. I’m anxious to see how it shakes out after a few years, because only 10% of these kids are landing somewhere and getting scholarships,” said Holiday. 7. North Texas coach Seth Littrell: “You play opponents year-in and year-out, they’re all rivalries to be honest with you, because you compete every year. The one thing that we’ve learned in the last couple of years playing UAB, and I think they would say the same thing about us, is it’s going to be a physical football game. I think they do a great job of lining up and good job coaching, getting their guys in the right situation to be successful. read more: https://www.al.com/uab/2019/07/what-uabs-divisional-opponents-said-about-the-blazers-at-cusa-media-days.html
  8. Team should have been undefeated last year.
  9. “I think any good business is constantly trying to do, and you don’t want to question everything you do, but you do ask what’s one thing we can do better. We added an accountability draft this summer where we divided our roster up and let our seniors draft our team. What those accountability teams did was it created a higher standard within our team. For example, how your locker looks, no lates, community service and a lot of things that made us that much better. That’s one thing I got from Clemson, and I won’t say who it was, but one the top defenses in the country, a coach that we know sent a picture of them studying us.” read more: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.al.com/uab/2019/07/rewinding-what-uab-head-coach-bill-clark-said-at-cusa-media-day-in-texas.html%3foutputType=amp

  10. The motto for the upcoming football season at UTEP is 'Orange Revival,' and that's just what the Miners are hoping to prove to everyone, not just UTEP fans. Dana Dimel wasn't the head coach during that 0-12 season, but now entering his second season, he's ready to take the Miners to the next level. "The first year was not the type of result we wanted to have, but of course you want to win every game you play in," Dimel said. "We did play very competitive in a lot of games, and we just set the standard for the kind of work ethic we wanted to have and I think the guys have done a great job in continuing to work at a high level." Dimel went on to say that last season was plagued with inuries, 27 in total, but even with all the injuries Dimel says his team continued to compete. read more: https://www.kvia.com/sports/utep-football-lays-out-expectations-at-c-usa-media-days/1096529550
  11. Here in this booming Dallas exurb, a landscape of construction scaffolds and hard hats anchored by the Cowboys’ lavish practice facility, Conference USA on Wednesday hung its Stetson on a trophy that greeted attendees at the league’s football media days. It’s the Bowl Challenge Cup, won by C-USA last year for going 4-2 in postseason games. The previous three winners were the Big Ten, the ACC and the SEC. “To me, that tells everybody who we are,” said Alabama-Birmingham coach Bill Clark, whose team won the league championship last year. read more: https://www.google.com/amp/s/pilotonline.com/sports/college/old-dominion/football/article_05e91398-a8e0-11e9-aa9d-7faf6d218060.amp.html

  12. As for the future, the Roadrunners have games lined up against the University of Texas. Starting in 2022, the Roadrunners will play the Longhorns every other season in Austin, Texas. This matchup is highly anticipated and is expected to soon be a rival for the small San Antonio school. Speaking to the media for the first time since UTSA announced a five-game series against Texas, Roadrunners coach Frank Wilson called the games “tremendously significant.” UTSA will travel to Austin to face Texas in 2022, 2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030. “Our desire was to be the best we can be and maximize our potential,” Wilson said. “The only way we can do that is to play people like that.” read more: https://lastwordoncollegefootball.com/2019/06/19/utsas-increasing-schedule-strength/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.expressnews.com/sports/college_sports/utsa/amp/North-Texas-the-favorite-in-balanced-Conference-14104114.php
  13. It was UTSA's turn in the spotlight at the Conference USA media days on Thursday. The team is looking for bigger and better things. Coming into the 2019 season, coach Frank Wilson feels like his team is in a good spot. There's room for improvement from last year, when the Roadrunners were 3-9 overall, with a 2-6 mark in conference play. However, they have more experience on the offensive line, great depth at running back and a healthy competition at the quarterback spot. Coach Wilson said it's too early to name a starting QB. "We have quality guys that are all vying for a position, and, in reality, we had them live in scrimmages in the spring on three occasions," he said. "Probably not enough to declare a guy just yet, but it'll happen. We'll have split practices the first week in fall camp, and let them really get after each other to separate themselves." read more: https://www.kens5.com/mobile/article/sports/utsa-uiw-football-address-expectations-at-media-days/273-899b892c-2b4f-4ad5-a6d1-eceaaaf2a4ce

  14. In 2018, Charlotte’s noteworthy wins mostly came at home, against Old Dominion in September, Western Kentucky in mid-October, Southern Miss in late October and a 27-24 road victory at Florida Atlantic in their final regular season game. There, freshman kicker Jonathan Cruz, the 2019 C-USA Preseason Special Teams Player of the Year, drilled a late 56-yard field goal for the eventual game-winner. Defensively, Healy expects incoming transfers Brelin Faison-Walden, a junior linebacker from Greensboro previously at Penn State, and Marquill Osborne, a senior defensive back from Cornelius who transferred from Tennessee, to play a considerable number of snaps. read more: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.charlotteobserver.com/sports/college/article232824347.html
  15. FRISCO, Texas – Offseason workouts for Louisiana Tech kicked off with newfound purpose and a heightened sense of awareness. After the Bulldogs downed Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl, the program’s fifth straight bowl victory, to cap the 2018 season, a big marquee game more than eight months away cut into the amount of enjoyment for the team. The season-opening matchup with the Texas Longhorns, a potential preseason top-5 team in the country, has been staring down Tech the entire offseason. Knowing that, preparation for the Bulldogs has been in a higher gear than the last couple of years during workouts and conditioning before fall camp. read more: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.thenewsstar.com/amp/1762366001
