  1. And the lead evaporated. We go into halftime tied at 32.
  2. La Tech is being sloppy, but for a change we are taking advantage of it pushing the lead out to 29-22; 3:34.
  3. Only one foul called so far, total. La Tech up 18-17; 11:05. UNT ahead 23-20 with Lawson going to the line after being fouled to deny an alley oop dunk. 7:40
  4. We do now.
  5. Starters are Woolridge, Derail, Reese, Temera, and Lawson. Game is moving quickly. Tied at 10; 15:54. Lawson powering us on the offensive end.
  6. La Tech is top of the conference good. We need a miracle to even qualify for the conference tournament. The evaluation of Tony Benford continues...
  7. Nope, just an observation on how GMG relives history on a regular basis.
  8. Lots of extremes and hyperbole from both sides in this thread. I'd say the truth lies somewhere in the middle, but it's the off-season and we aren't talking about uniforms so there's that.
  9. And many more threads for years afterwards if our history is any indication...
  10. Yeah, 'much improved' or 'promising' would be much better phrasing.
  11. I think I heard Benford talking politics at the last game I went to so...
  12. Exactly what would make any reasonable person think this staff would get a 5th full season?
  13. I don't recall seeing an announcement. I think Wren is still evaluating. Do you have some inside info?
  14. It's way more fun to jet around the country than do the messy work.
  15. Yes, but with college teams using running QBs more often than the pros do I like the stats being kept the way they are now.
  16. Yep, and there's sure to be more bowl eligible team now because there are more FBS teams and with a 12 game schedule there's probably more 6 win teams as well.
  17. That why I asked if he meant bowl teams or bowl eligible. I'd bet there are more bowl eligible teams than during DD's tenure, but no where close to twice as many bowl eligible teams.
  18. You said "way more than one might expect" and I provided a reasonable explanation for the difference between expected and actual attendance. I'm not sure why that caused you respond with a lengthy post and ask why it matters, but c'est la vie.
  19. I caution you not to put much stock into anything Calipari says that might be construed as advice on doing the right thing.
  20. It was a preview weekend and that accounted for a fair number of people attending.
  21. If you think comparing that a monstrous failure of a MBB coach still being allowed to fail again in his fifth (!) season is senseless bitching then I don't think we will be able to agree on much if anything. That's about as dumb of a statement one could make. I'll refresh your memory. Benford's teams have never even reached .500 in a season against D1 competition. Benford lost 20 games twice in his first four years and is a virtual certainty to lost 20 plus again this season. No self respecting athletic department would allow a coach to coach his final contract season, much less tolerate losing 20+ three times in five seasons. If WB needed a year to figure out Benford should be terminated then we've got the wrong guy.
  22. If a player is on an athletic scholarship he/she counts towards the limits no matter what level of degree they are persuing.
  23. The time for patience has passed. UNT needs a AD that delivers some action. As for the budget, that didn't stop him from addin several high level positions and basically make no other changes so that's a specious argument.
  24. It was foolish thing to say then and looks more foolish now. Not a good early indicator...
  25. No, it looks like they arent finished evaluating how to run off more fans yet.
