I have no issue with Vito making the comment about the short bench. It's a reality and, I think, an important item to discuss. Bringing up last year is also appropriate. It's highlights how far Jalie has brought the team in such a short time and allows that it will not be all sunshine and roses this year. IMO, a better Vito complaint is how he has carefully handled Benford. He crushed Dodge at every opportunity and even though Benford looks at least as clueless he's been overly nice.

Benford seems to have them making a concerted effort to really push the pace and I'm sure that's a part of it, but don't forget the shot clock is shorter now so we should see some higher scores from that alone.

I think your post is off target. I read back and the first people to bring up RV were El Paso Eagle and then Fly. If I missed your post calling them out for "politicizing" the win I'll apologize.

It's dormant. The undercurrent is still there (and deservedly so), but we don't know much about this team right now. I doubt the D1 teams we are bringing in for the tournament will provide much of an indication either.

Why? It was my understanding that the folks on Bonnie Brae feel the games don't need any promotion.

You do realize the group you are talking about have given as good as they've gotten, right? I've repeatedly said I think both sides need to tone down the rhetoric, but make no mistake it's both sides.

He will help against lower caliber teams, but he's a one year rental player and shouldn't be counted on to do too much. That said, he looked pretty good last night in limited action.

The ladies may still struggle this season. If they do then I still think this win matters. It's certain to help Jalie in recruiting, but I don't think it's wasted if they win 10-15. This was a VERY bad team last year and there will likely be plenty of bumps in the road.

Yeah, but even then we aren't bringing top caliber competition. It's very possible we won't know what we really have until conference play starts. SIU should give us an idea though.

And it's her first win too
