You said you couldn't understand a grade lower than a B. Turning in a recruiting class that is kind of small with low numbers of HS recruits and ranked (for what that's worth) in the bottom third of the conference could reasonably be considered less than B level work.

So let's say this class ranks 9 or 10 out of 14. 9/14=B?

Lots of coaches would see that as a feature and not a bug. If he's not shaving yet he has way more physical maturation to do. Let him do that in a FBS strength program... I doubt we are counting on him for this season (2 Sr QBs) so letting him develop only costs us a 'ship. We ar supposed to recruit a new QB every year so he shouldn't be the only option in a year or two...

Yes, but I think he has to count towards a recruiting class if he is put on scholarship anytime during his first two years. After that he won't count as part of a recruiting class and 'just' one of your 85.

That's a fine softball question. Those kinds of questions should be expected and welcomed. They give the coach something to talk about and say nice things about the players. Much like a few short passes helps QB build confidence and get into a rhythm those are meant to help the coach and journalist. The journo needs a quote and that's a gimme.

What was your position on Canales and if he knew a thing or two about QBs?
