  1. Draper trying to take over, F_U now ahead 57-49 and Benford calls TO at 10:14.
  2. This just in: Jeremy Combs is a bad, bad man. Despite the MONSTER dunk from Combs we still trail 50-49, 11:52 left.
  3. That's the famous:infamous Benford "shooter!". All tied up at the first media TO, 43-43.
  4. Down 37-35 at the half. Rush is right, 3 ball is keeping us in it.
  5. Unis good. Dancers outfit-meh. Let me know when you bail and I'll try to fill in for you.
  6. I believe Twitter is ok, but nearly all other contact is prohibited unless you have a pre existing relationship.
  7. Uh, less than 20 minutes to tip and there are less than 100 people in the seating area. that includes the band...
  8. Ernie probably enjoys winning basketball...
  9. It is rare, but I'd welcome JJ back with open arms.
  10. It's likely that he will draw even more interest from big programs. He did grow up here so that is the age old good/bad thing. Great if he wants mom and dad to be at all the games like they have his whole life, not so great if he wants to go away for school.
  11. How it works is spelled out in the contract(s). From what I've seen reported in other instances it's usually a predetermined payment to opt out. In the case of the SMU series I don't recall a well detailed report of the opt out clauses. It's certainly possible that there is no buyout required of either party after a certain number of years, though I think it most likely the school opting out will be required to pay a fee to do so. I can't recall ever hearing about a team opting out of a game or series and having to find replacement games for ther opponent. That falls on the team with the hole in their schedule and they will likely use the opt out payment to pay to whichever school they schedule on short notice.
  12. That's not how that works...
  13. I don't know. Tulsa f-Ed our schedule and that was just a short series. Can you imagine the carnage if the SMU series was no longer an OOC series? That would still further reduce the $ per share in both cases. Since the (kinda) Big 12 got their waiver they don't need to expand to have a title game. Adding teams weakens the conference payouts, and that's what's going to drive changes, not on the field results.
  14. Why would the (not so) Big 12 add anyone? Didn't they get their waiver for a football conference title game? Why would CUSA, or any raided conference, backfill and split the pie any further?
  15. Well that should be any day now if you still have multiple active accounts. I'm sure @Harry @TheTastyGreek @All About UNT or @Cerebus (assuming you aren't a sock puppet of his) will be around shortly...
  16. Something tells me that the people in Happy Valley know that answer...
  17. I agree with prettu much everything, except the bolded part. For ADs and head coaches the best job security is a winning program. The second best is close ties to the big money donors. That's true everywhere, the difference between UNT and other places is the number of big donors is smaller so you don't need as many to like you on a personal level.
  18. Yeah, I believe at least some of their fanbase called him 'Mcdummy'
  19. I think you have b&c mixed up a bit. I think there are lots more people that think RV deserves to be sent packing. Most of them aren't very vocal about it and/or are willing to suffer/wait until his contract is closer to expiring.
  20. Even if they try for Captial Murder it will be a good 10 years or more before he gets the needle.
  21. Wisconsin could be a good future matchup for a Littrell offense. Big nasty "old school" teams should be more susceptible to an upset against a spread 'me out team. Tulsa and Northern Arizona say hi.
  22. I appreciate the post. What I don't like is how anything bad isn't RV's doing. The buck has to stop somewhere and it should stop at his desk. I certainly respect that you've bought in to RV's vision in a big way and I'm glad you've done so and find value in the act of giving. I view RV as a no better than a (pardon the saber metric phrase) replacement level AD. A truly valuable AD would have done better on at least half of those hires because he/she can find talent that fits their budget. Of course that doesn't address the more easily controlled for issues his department has on a regular basis and only addresses W-L for his "big 3" sports. Even if you remove the games against power teams the record remains abysmal.
  23. It will be interesting to see how Spencer develops over the next couple of years.
