Conference USA reaches landmark deal with ESPN
Army of Dad replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
an event, discovery, or change marking an important stage or turning point in something Doesn't have to be positive, just important... -
New people posting on here should take caution that this board has more than the average amount of smart aleck behavior. This is neither good nor bad, it's just the way things are on GMG. This also assumes that a new poster is truly new and not a reincarnation of a banned screen name or a sock puppet of a current poster.

Doesn't the son have a bit of a temper?

Agree, especially on the bolded portion. -

We have place for this, especially if you are going to use emotionally charged rhetoric. I quite sure it's possible to discuss the Baylor situation in an athletics context without adding political narratives. There are so many bowls right now it shouldn't be difficult to make one every other year or every third year and do it without cheating.

MGB: Some thoughts on where UNT goes from here
Army of Dad replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't think it has to be anger if one thinks that the offices on Bonnie Brea need a good, deep cleaning. I don't think you need a complete clean sweep, but I do think the new AD should be from outside the current AD team. -
Agree 100%.

We should start seeing better options for those once we get baseball.

MGB: Some thoughts on where UNT goes from here
Army of Dad replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
^^^^^^^ Shameless (& effective) trolling for +1s. -
Completely? While I think the program has been run very clean, completely is a very high bar. Since the meat of this issue is misconduct by players and the handling of it by Baylor we shouldn't be casting any stones, even the relatively small ones. Tasty made a fairly compelling case about other issues a few years ago. There have also been APR issues during RVs tenure. NOTHING at all like what is alleged to have occurred in Waco, Happy Valley, and many others places, but 'completely' is probably the wrong word.

CBS DFW's Take On RV's Resignation
Army of Dad replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
I seem to recall at least 1-2 posters floating the idea that Hank be the permanent AD. That's not a lot, and I've seen more posts saying 'no thank you' to him and a couple of other AD staffers, but I think I've seen it. -
Conversely, the person might already be destined to be out and having the experience/title may help in their impending job search.

Am I the only one who sees the thread title and does a little mash up of Kobe's signing off to the crowd in LA and picture Starr doing the same?

Also, that was about the coverage from a different media outlet before it devolved and got locked. -

For the record, you are against threads showing media coverage of a major event in UNT Athletics? You should probably make your feelings known here too: As for me, this is a big event and there's lots of coverage. I don't think that will all be digested for some time. -
Can't be, he said he was looking to buy his first gun. That dude already has two.

Thank you. Signed, I'm out of +1s again

This should be looked at as a feature and not a bug. After a few cycles of successful hires then it could well be time for that to end, but not yet.

No competitive student athletic fee will doom ANY new AD
Army of Dad replied to DallasGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Agree, the ideal means for additional funding is from attendance and booster support. -
Star Telegram's Take On RV's Resignation.
Army of Dad replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
It's nigh on impossible to get 100% for anything. RV stepping down/being fired/retiring/whatever will provide a chance for the fanbase to heal and rally around new leadership. It will take time to build what was torn down and we won't get everyone back. Some will take longer to return than others (too many crotch kickings make people wary). -
Best of Luck in the Future Mr. Villareal
Army of Dad replied to UNTLifer's topic in Mean Green Football
Yep, and in time (especially with lots of winning) some of the wounds will scab over. He did accomplish a lot, but probably hung on too long.
