  1. He's wearing North Texas gear. He IS dressed to impress.
  2. I was pretty critical of the Pres, but am pleasantly surprised he got it done when it comes to RV. I'm back in the 'trust' camp for the time being.
  3. Nah, that's a lie from those corn shuckers. You just didn't realize because Nebraska has been irrelevant in national football for some time now...
  4. You're not seeing the bigger picture. @Ben Gooding knows we don't have a law school so none of those dollars would going to UNT. By choking off that income stream we could be hurting our competition!
  5. We played them in the Pit during JJ's tenure. I do not recall the year. The games was supposed to be at Houston, but they moved it up here to make it a part of their bowl festivities.
  6. Are you directionally challenged or did I miss where South Carolina followed North Carolina's lead and passed a similar bathroom law?
  7. Agree that the timing is an issue, but we've already seen what Benford is capable of. A (relatively) last minute replacement isn't likely to do worse than 12-20...
  8. I have (other than the Super Pit). SMU used to have one of the quietest gyms...
  9. Ah, but you picked the annual noon on a work/school day game to make your point. The game is deliberately set at a time nearly all "regular" fans can't make. Those games are always against some patsy and "draw" 4K. A giveaway to a more attractive game where the giveaway reaches actual decision makers isn't the same thing as DISD day.
  10. I see two issues with that theory. 1. Those games appear to be nothing more than an attendance booster. 2. By only having the kids and not the $$ decision makers at the game it's going be tough to parents to come "back".
  11. Possible? I guess, but they may prefer Frisco. Though I'm not sure what kind of seating minimums might be required for bowl games and if that would meet them...
  12. Start winning consistently and start providing excellent customer service to all levels of event attendees and all levels of giving. I don't see where UNT should be turning people away or off. I'm hopeful this aspect is among the first to change in the new AD. I still believe there's a ton of potential here and with the right combination of on and off the field effort/results that potential can start being realized.
  13. I wonder if having your phone exposed to a large amount of recoil might cause problems...
  14. I don't know, RV mentioned it during his interview with Vito and now Vito says 'the coaching community' is talking about a shake up.
  15. Judging from the attendance at MBB games we may have finally found something the AD is good at...
  16. Yes, provided the postseason ban covered their remaining eleigibilty. I seem to recall a sweepstakes of sorts for their stud RB, ended up as USC (west), IIRC. ETA: yep. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/penn-state-rb-redd-transfer-221419258--ncaaf.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory&soc_trk=ma
  17. That's how the NCAA has handled it whenever a player's team has a postseason ban for the remainder of his/her eligibility.
  18. Maybe, but legalese language makes me wonder if they intend to fire for cause. They might end up paying something, but might be looking at $0 as their starting point...
  19. I find it odd that anyone thinks it ok to openly belittle and be hostile to paying customers or would attempt to justify it any way. The department does not run well, change is needed. The labeling of people currently in the AD is a result of this. That open hostility in combination with poor performance is a sure fire way to get people to call for a deep cleaning of the offices on Bonnie Brea.
  20. 1st graph: Generally agree, though split loyalties could be an issue when the schools are in direct competition in most cases it won't be a hinderance. (There's always exceptions) 2nd graph: You started out very well, but the last half of it gets messy. If they had done nothing but "great work" then there would be far fewer complaints about things outside of W/L records. Also, since the current climate/culture inside the AD seems to be openly hostile towards this board and individual posters I think the respect line was destroyed a long time ago. As is so often the case, blame can be placed on both sides, though I would weigh it more on the provider and less on the consumer.
  21. The attitude sure seems to be spot on though.
  22. I care less about where someone went to school than how effective they are at their job. All things being equal having a grad working at their own school is nice, but I don't care if they went to SMU or FSU if they are fixing the mess we have now.
  23. And if so are they all vodka boxes or just mostly vodka boxes?
