Couple of quick thoughts before the ladies start their scrimmage. Turnout is both disappointing and expected. Benford was not lying my about Ricky changing his body. He has slimmed up considerably.

Whith our defense being much improved and possibly poor weather conditions why not?

Well, we did it again. We bought season tickets. There are some reasonably significant changes that may impact other fans. 1. No more family four packs (at least for season tickets, but I don't see them on the website for single games either). 2. The ends of the lower bowl are now general admission. These baseline areas used to be assigned seating and available for season tickets. This is no longer the case. (The student section appears to be unchanged) 3. My wife had to go through a couple of people but eventually talked to the new ticketing director, Tricia Drummond, and she was able to get us taken care of. We really liked our seats and that was the main factor in renewing during a couple of seasons in the current coaching era. AoM let Tricia know we don't like the new rules. Also of concern is that we were never contacted about renewing our seats. We had to contact them. My wife checked and they had her cell number on file. Per Tricia they had a 3rd party contact season ticket holders. At least we were able to provide her with that feedback so she can evaluate that vendor with more info in hand.

A bigger cause for losing teams in the playoffs is from small districts where they may be only 5-6 teams. You get an 8 team district in a major metro area and the 4th place team is better than a decent number of smaller district 2nd place teams. You can't make every district the same numbers wise so this may be a decent compromise.

Baylor is an excellent chance for a coach to use the 'everyone hates us' and 'it's us against the world' motivators. Add that to a pretty soft schedule so far and this isn't really that unexpected.

That's some green koolaid sipping (drinking would have been anything more that $100) right there. And as crazy as it was before he season it looks at least a little less crazy right now! Which is pretty fun.

I know many people thought UTEP wouldn't be awful this season, but they are 1-5 with their only win over NM St. and FIU beat them in El Paso. Army won that game handily, but let's not oversell that result.
