Does everyone expect Mason Fine to start at HOD ?

So maybe not... -
He's a 2018.
-
Ok, that's still just two guys, including one that had no other FBS offer. I'm glad they are here, but getting Fine when he didn't have any other FBS offers isn't exactly winning battles for recruits. Plus, the fact the staff was on a short timeframe after getting hired would lead to some late offers/commits by necessity.

Mike Jarvis at FAU comes to mind, maybe someone else that I'm forgetting.
-
Didn't we see a similar influx of "name" coaches in basketball? I think it was right toward the end of our Sun Belt time, but it didn't lead to a major bump up in play.
-
I think someone posted that he would be eligible for the game on the 22nd. (Maybe @Brett Vito could find out?) I don't see why he wouldn't start. He's been with the team for a year and he's almost assured to be more talented than the guys who have been starting this year. He may need some time to work back into playing 25-30 minutes a night, but I'd think you can still start him and rotate that position a bit more of he needs some adjustment time.

Perhaps you could check the W/L record for the 4-6 years before JJ got here and the 4-6 years before Benford. If you do that, I think you'll find that there was a massive difference in the state of the program when each took the job.

I'll drink all three of those. Add some peppermint schnapps to the hot cocoa for a little extra warming effect.
-
It's a question of numbers though isn't it? Some good talent, just not enough of them to fill out a roster here.
-
If this isn't he place for it I'll understand, but I think it's fair to ask if the way things went over the last few years of RV's tenure (and especially the last year of it) just caused too much damage. How long will it take to heal the fanbase? A year? Five years? 10? Will winning cure what ails Mean Green Nation? On a completely unrelated note I just figured out that if you highlight only a portion of a post on your phone there's an option to 'quote this'. Super handy if you only want to address a small portion of a long post.

Gonna have to disagree with you on the bolded part. Combs did not look like his old self. He had at least two attempts in the paint where he had(or possibly chose) to try a layup instead of finishing at the rim. IMO, he's still not 100%.

Is that so? I mean, Fine was on the team when the fifth win occurred, but I don't recall him having much to do with it... -
Draper picks up the loose ball and takes it to the hole for the hoop and the harm. Crowd goes crazy. 68-34; 3:45 and Draper at the line. Light the tower. 73-40 is the final.

I'd like to say it's stellar defense, but I'm not sure. It's equally likely they're just that bad. (I think they tried to double dribble and messed that up on their last possession) UNT up 57-26; 7:34. Walk ins are in the game and we have over 5 minutes left
-
We've been pressing this half to some effect. Now lead 40-23; 15:48. Not much happening. 44-23; 11:44.
