  1. I think Buddle is Jozy light. Notice how that just about got in each other's way against Algeria. They are too similar and don't complement each other right now. Gomez has a scorers nose and is on great form right now. He combined well with Jozy, getting balls that Jozy knocked down and seems to be the best fit with him. Findley is a different player and I think his pace will trouble any team, but I think he is more effective as a sub giving him a great speed advantage than normal.
  2. CBL, I like your lineup, though I wouldn't mind seeing Gooch on and Bocs on the left as I just don't trust Bornstein. I also prefer Gomez to Findley starting. Gomez is finisher and seemed to work very well with Jozy and I was surprised to see him taken off at the half. I think Findley coming on late (60-75) would be the best for him as he will be even faster at that stage going against tired legs on Ghana's backline.
  3. I must have missed that particular version of Shiner. Now I am happy that I didn't have to suffer a bad bottle.
  4. Then you should know about my favorite beer, Summit Pale Ale. Far and away the best beer I have ever had, but very hard to find down here. Boulevard makes some very good beers and you can't go wrong with a Shiner (any of them).
  5. Fun story... I was calling a game involving a DSA team and a team from another city. The visiting coach comes out to get his game report after the game and tells me "That is the most biased game I have ever seen". While the coach is still standing there a parent of the Denton team comes out and asks if she can ask me a question. I love questions, I hope that by answering a question I can save myself or another referee some grief down the line. I tell her to go ahead and she says "That is the most biased game I have ever seen from a ref!" I pointed at the visiting coach and told her that he just said the same thing and they may not have liked it, but I had to have called a fair game!
  6. The referee determines how much time to add on to the end of the game to make up for stoppages in play. In games that are big enough to have a fourth official the referee tells him how much time will be added on and the fourth official relays that to everyone else. CBL is correct that in nearly all cases a ref will allow an attack to finish before blowing the final whistle, though he has no obligation to do so.
  7. 1. No 2. No (at least not much of a fan then)
  8. While many departments allow officers to carry rifles and some even issue them. I don't know of any departments that issue AKs. AR-15s are the most popular patrol rifle. If the media have correctly identified the weapon used as an AK clone then it is almost certainly not an issued weapon. This doesn't automatically remove the possibility that he got the weapon from his father, just that it wasn't a DPD issued weapon.
  9. I am pretty sure Hawaii is MUCH farther away than Miami.
  10. I am not a fan of going to the WAC for many reasons, but travel is a huge one. Tough on our players and even tougher on the fans.
  11. He could have done some damage from there. If the center had been hurt he would have been the one to take over. He shouldn't be in South Africa any more.
  12. I think the way they do it he is either a center or he goes home. FIFA works the refs in crews, and if your referee fails then you are done. Each crew brings three ARs and if one fails the crew can stay, but two failing ARs sends them all home. I don't know how they pick the 4th and 5th officials though.
  13. Kram, what did you think of the foul on Jozy? The ref gave a yellow, but it looked like it was a denying a goal scoring opportunity (which would be a red card for everyone here that isn’t a soccer ref) I will admit that my fan's eyes see that as DOGO, but my ref eyes think it might have been as well.
  14. I am a ref too. That one was horrible. What did you think of the yellow card he showed Findley for having the ball hit him in the face? (though having Findley on the bench for the next game isn't a bad thing IMO)
  15. You won't be able to anything because there isn't a foul to see. A replay can be viewed here. http://tinyurl.com/3yfjo8e
  16. Maybe not count football towards the scholarship totals, or only count half? If you could only count half of football scholarships then that would leave enough to allow both men's soccer and baseball.
  17. I would be more than willing to fall down the equality rankings (I think we are number one right now) to add baseball.
  18. Nah wouldn't want anyone else to get hurt.
  19. Well it is the World Cup and this is Spain we are talking about...ah the Spanish underachieve again.
  20. At least confuse Slovakia and Slovenia. the Slovenes would not like being confused with their former Serb masters! LOL
  21. That scenario seems very unlikely. Michigan and Georgia at the top of their conferences!? Had you said Florida and Ohio State however...
  22. USA gets a point off the English off the foot of Texas' own Clint Dempsey!
  23. Still, you have to think he is a bigger plus than most people.
