Their website shows a 7:00 start time, and Kyle has said in the past that all games start at 7:05. This sounds like fun and I am going to see we can get the family out there.

You mean that athlete struggling to regain his former dominance as he ages means his previous accomplishments are tainted? Seems like some odd logic, though I will agree with you that spending time with McConehey puts you on the fast track to douche status. -
I know Spencer personally (though not really well) and I am sure this decision was absolutely gut wrenching for him and his family. He has been an outstanding coach for UNT for many years and deserves all the slack in the world. He has done great things for the Mean Green. While the timing sucks, this is our current place in the college football world. Vandy snags the coach from a smaller fish and that fish goes and snags the OL coach from an even smaller fish. This is what happens when you have good coaches, other schools will want them.

Considering that last year there was improvement, yes it could get worse! I don't think it will, but it could. -
True Or False ? Unt Working On 2-1 With Oklahoma

Actually that was really more of a well intended/fun shot towards eppy since he started the 'I'm not saying thread'. I am sorry that someone pissed in your cornflakes this morning. -

Picking up a good player this late would be nice. I wonder if he would be willing to redshirt for the coming season.

1-I used to think soccer was boring too. Much like many people think baseball is boring. Like baseball there is often more going on than it first appears. To be fair the World Cup Final was not a the most entertaining game. 2-Actually eliminating offsides would punish more athletic teams as defenses would hold players farther back to avoid opponents cherry picking in front of the goal. Many teams at the top level hold a higher defensive line to trap teams into being offside. Fast players try to beat the trap by timing their runs right. When it works you get good scoring chances. 3-Simulating a foul or diving is punishable by a yellow card. Calling a dive and showing a card is much harder than you might think. I would like to see video review of games and retroactive punishment for divers which should include suspension if they dive and cause their opponent to get carded or the dive results in a PK. -

Yes because the Colts-Bears Super Bowl was a great example of how that game can be so exciting. I love football, my first sports love actually, but how many Super Bowls weren't all that super? How many were and are more memorable for the commercials? -
All of the cities you mention are closer to major population/job centers than Denton is. Even Allen and Frisco are because of their border with Plano. Plano grew because it was the suburb of Dallas and the large number of corporate headquarters located there. Keller is the northern suburb of Ft. Worth. Roanoke and Southlake benefit from close proximity to DFW airport and the resulting number of major company headquarters located there in addition to the Alliance Airport/Intermodal hub. Denton was passed by because we are farther out from the urban sprawl (for now) and not much more reason than that. As I have already said the city government is barely competent, (to put it nicely) and bear some responsibility for the conditions we have here now. The city government/city council are not the primary factor in other formerly small towns in the region outpacing us in growth, our location is.

As I type this five minutes left in normal time and it is still 0-0. Lifer might be right! -
You are very punny.

How much of that is the market? Frisco is larger than Denton and both Allen and Frisco have better tax bases. They also have large cities surrounding them in a fast growing area (it certainly was fast growing when Frisco built those stadiums). Denton has, well Lewisville is on the other side of the lake and then we have what, Sanger? We simply don't have a Plano bordering us. Frisco also has the Stonebriar mall, no chance of a mall like that making a home in Denton because there isn't the same market available here. I love Denton for the small town feel and we have a lot going for us and we should be better than we are. Simply voting yes to every proposition and reelecting the same fools to the city council every election is certain to change nothing. I work about 40 miles from my house and yet we choose to continue to live in Denton. When I was out of a job I looked very hard for one in Denton, or even in Denton County and found no luck. Denton needs to be more pro-business and pro-development and yet we seem to be unable to build anything more than new housing additions. Sorry for the longish rant.

Rayzor Ranch is messed up because of the company's bad finances. The rail is DCTA. Fry Street is, well Fry Street and I don't know why the private company was in such a hurry to knock everything down to leave an empty lot there. As much as I disagree with the city on many issues I don’t see where they are at fault with most of what you accuse them. This time. Next thing you know you will be blaming the city for Golden Triangle Mall being foreclosed on.
