  1. It most certainly does matter what is better for us, mainly because like most countries we will act in our own best interest most of the time. Does it matter to the Egyptians? Ask them, though I would guess that the ones who are pro-government would think it matters and the anti-government side would think our opinion means almost nothing. I made no suggestion that these people are too stupid to make their own choices, all I did is say what I thought would be best for us. Where did you get that from? Are you projecting?
  2. My point is that it is our damned business. I was quite careful to avoid saying what we should do, but this unrest in Egypt is our business and advocating that stick our collective heads in the sand (what you seemed to be saying) is a poor choice. Sticking our heads in the sand has led to greater problems in the long run. This particular situation is very dicey, though I think we are better off with Mubarak in charge. The devil you know...
  3. None of the crap that went down in Germany in the mid 1930s was our business either and we treated it as such. That didn't work out to well and we have been more active in international affairs ever since.
  4. You sure about that? This team hasn't provided enough evidence to back up that statement, IMO. This team should be talented enough to do it, but I am not sure that they are talented enough to do it.
  5. As good as we normally shot FTs (except for Hogans, oh how I had hoped his year off was used to work on this) this shouldn't be an issue. Pace and flow shouldn’t matter to a team that historically shoots very well from the charity stripe. IIRC one of our early conference season visitors got a tech for saying something along the lines of 'its always a free throw shooting contest in Denton'.
  6. Public speaking...know your audience.
  7. Disagree...we should want them to lose at least once before then. I want the regular season title, especially since that will provide some postseason play if we mess up in Hot Springs.
  8. Tristan is a senior and he is done after this season. Kedrick has another year of eligibilty left after sitting out last year when he hurt his shoulder.
  9. I hadn't thought of that. I was thinking that even if he fails out our RPI situation is so good that one guy won't hurt us. If he doesn't even count until he gets eligible then we are golden!
  10. Kedrick will be back and should be a tremendous help.
  11. More disturbing that Eagle 96 thought that up so quickly
  12. Well eppy has outdone himself compared to the I'm Not Saying thread...
  13. Go Johnny Go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ofD9t_sULM&feature=related
  14. This news is worth the tease. When Tony suits up for us he will be a great player. He could take this snowball rolling downhill from one that you don't want to get hit by to one that could steamroll every other program in this state except the one in Austin. Just showing that you can get the the promised land of the NBA coming through North Texas will absolutely change the way we are percieved by recruits and potential future conference mates. This is a very good day in UNT land, one that may well be bigger than we think.
  15. Holy sh!t. Wow, just wow...this is way too cool. I guess we now know what Johnny had in mind for one of the open scholarships!
  16. That was pretty much my point CBL.
  17. Then why would you show yearly totals to support your argument? I think the yearly averages are more meaningful in terms of this discussion anyway as game by game stats can fluctuate wildly. For example in most of our losses Josh didn't get more than one defensive rebound. Could that be because our opponents are missing fewer shots? To get back to another point of mine, just what kind of rebounding numbers do you expect from Josh? I think that just about whatever boards he get are at least as much a function of lucky bounces as hard work or hustle on his part.
  18. How did they "plummet"? And what kind of rebounding did you expect from our (listed at)5'10" point guard?
  19. I am worried the Toppers will figure it out and get going before we play them. Remember, we were to have played them already if not for the game being moved to get it on ESPN.
  20. Except that he didn't leave UNT thin when he graduated. We had another guard coming that didn't qualify and had Domo coming back after his redshirt. That says nothing of the guys who played last year like Tristan, Alzee and Shannon. At the time it looked like we were well stocked at the positions he plays. Subsequent events have changed that. I would have loved to see him get a standing O on Senior Night this year, but he didn't leave us thin and by graduating didn't cause any harm RPI wise.
  21. So that is what they were whining about...we weren't sure what they said over the PA. I thought the loud clinking was the echoes of their pregame warm-ups. Just awful shooting, #33 carried that throughout the game too. I loved Alonzo getting into the edge of that scrum when George got fouled. If #15 loses his head and starts swinging I would rather he do it at 'zo than George. Even a good shove by #15 would have been his 5th foul. Heady move by Edwards. +1
  22. I would hate to see what it is like in the Haven right now...I think I will wait to go over there.
