SMU I get, but why would Houston, Rice, and UTEP follow along?
-
You play to win the game!
-
You are assuming much, like we will be able to get name programs to play us at home. We have a tendency to win lots of our home games, and beat schools from "bigger" conferences. Also, you do realize that Tony Mitchell won't be able to suit up for us until after the fall semester, right? That would keep him out of almost all of our non-conference games and the Tony Mitchell Show won't be able to start until the season is 1/3 to 1/2 way over. Then of course he could (assuming he is here and not in the NBA) really put us over the top and begin to help drive attendance.

I did like the fact they brought Cam out to center court to honor him, but held off on the framed jersey. A nice way to let him get his ovation and still leave the door open to wear the home white again. Per Vito, it looks like they just couldn't get the jersey framed in time.

I agree completely.
-
Is Cam really going to be honored on Saturday? I wonder how the AD will handle that since he is a senior, but we are trying to get him an exception to play next season.
-
Well the current coach is probably more suited to the HS level. I wonder if we can just trade them straight up or if we would need to send some supplies along with Shanice...maybe a folder or two...
-
He was at the last men's game...hope that inspired him to stick around and suit up next year!

I am just shocked and dismayed. Horrible end to this season and I really don't think you can say that it isn't over. This team is a dead man walking and has been for several weeks now. I NEVER thought this season would end this way and I don't think any reasonable fan would have foreseen this debacle. I don't think JJ is to blame on the open scholarships, though we usually see him as a miracle worker and naturally expect him to pull out a recruiting shocker. None of this will change my passion for watching this team and cheering them on as best I can. I am a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan, and as a result a pessimist. I am used to getting the proverbial kick in the teeth most years, I am just disappointed that this team is doing it to me this year. We have watched our dreams for this season die. Some of us are in the acceptance stage and some of us are still in denial, while some of us are in the anger stage right now. We should all remember that before any hateful posts are made. By definition we are fanatics, and we are joined in a common cause. We will all still be here next season and the season after that. My family will renew our season tickets for next year, I suspect most of the rest of you will do the same. I will still be there on Saturday and we made sure that our "Ice Game" comp tickets are being used that game to see these seniors off. They have accomplished much, though I suspect in the years to come they will feel like they didn't accomplish as much as they could have. The Mean Green family will come to see this season as an opportunity missed, but as a fan I hold out hope that next year's team will make me forget the disappointment of this year's team. Remember that for us, there is always a next year to look forward to. If I am wrong (and God I hope I am) and they win out I will happily take my lumps.

Kram, what is the drop dead date for sign ups. I am coaching baseball again this year and won't know my game schedule for some time. I would hate to deprive everyone of my mediocre (at best) basketball skill (not pluralized since I don't know that I have more than one). It sounds like lots of fun though and it is for a good cause, the only hang up (like last year's football game) is coaching baseball. -
They were gassed in the first half too. #2 was huffing and puffing throughout the first half and it only got worse for him as Tristan seemed to start running a lot more on the offensive and Reedus just couldn't keep up with him. BTW, shout out to TTG-wonderful ref heckle last night. "keep looking, there still isn't a foul there".

If you are a season ticket holder make sure you find people to use the tickets you can get for the free admission 'ice game'! -
How does that make them a member of the armed forces and not civilian? They are not military (though the we could debate whether the current trend towards paramilitary style policing is a good thing) they remain decidedly civilian or they would not be allowed to operate as they currently do under the Constitution.
-
First of all, you would not be a citizen of McKinney as cities in our country do not confer citizenship upon their residents. Similarly, I absolutely hate it when cops refer to non-cops as civilians. All serving police officers are civilians. Even those that are a part of the reserves or National Guard are civilians when not on duty with the military. As far as the service without paying for it you may be partially right, but if I am shopping at McKinney businesses then I am paying sales tax in that city and at least in part paying for the service(s) I would receive. That contribution would be much smaller than if I were a resident in McKinney of course, but I am sure the business community in McKinney can't survive by selling only to McKinney residents.
