  1. Oh I thought that would die with the season.
  2. Yeah we might have had a shot at a 15 seed (especially finishing the season strong and a spot available in Tulsa). If we could catch a Notre Dame on a bad shooting night or Texas choking we might have had a chance. Even then, I think only three 15s have ever won a first round game.
  3. You did see that score from the Kansas game this season right? That is the caliber of team we would have had to face. No #16 has ever beaten a #1 and we would have needed to have six teams to be considered worse than us to avoid a #16 seed this year.
  4. That was a push off, but one that is rarely called. I have less of a beef over that than the take pancake block on the previous three. The refs were the usual Sun Belt brand of bad and we played bad enough in the last couple of minutes to let them help decide the game. I think we can still be bitter about a lot of what happened last night. There are plenty of things to be bitter about. The guys left something out on the court, they know it, we know it and we are all bitter about it. I have to think the players will have a very bitter taste in their mouths over this though I do have to hand it to them. I wouldn't have been as complimentary of those douchetastic and dirty UALR pricks in a postgame interview.
  5. The two boys are just the easiest to see, we had our daughter with us as well.
  6. Ok we brought the family. Go Mean Green!!
  7. RPI is important, but not the only thing the selection committee considers. However, the RPIs of the teams in the Big Dance is what is relevant for seeding discussions (not the RPI of teams eliminated like Muts). If we are to base our conjecture on RPI alone we would need to have six teams with lower RPIs than us in the final 68.
  8. Two plus hours away...
  9. You know someone mentioned that already. Check with him and see, I think he is wanting more people to get a room and sound...
  10. Here is another drink for the Mean Green nation. Alien Secretion (or adult Green Kool Aid). This is a sweet drink (literally), but it is easy to make in advance and is an excellent tailgate cocktail.
  11. “We are playing our best ball of the season,” Thompson said. “Good things are happening for us.” I wonder if he reads GMG...
  12. They did lose to Depaul (current RPI:231), neither Tech (158) nor LSU (219) would be an automatic 'W'.
  13. It was a big win, the loss not so much. FAU is the regular season champ and #1 seed, beating them is a big win, losing to them is not a big loss (though it did sting).
  14. Yeah, I think the saying is that 'You want to be the guy following the guy.
  15. Per ESPN Pat Knight is done in Lubbock after the Big 12 tournament.
  16. I think I speak for everyone here when I say Good Luck FAU! Win a couple of games in the NIT and represent the Sun Belt well.
  17. Who you gonna believe, a bunch of non 6th year expemtion granting bastards or our athletic department?
  18. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, but judging by the number of conference realignment threads maybe he thought this was the way to fit in around here. If Hopeful was like this after getting Jimmered I will be sure to stay away from BYU games this season.
  19. They didn't forget, they just don't like us much.
  20. oops...my bad.
  21. Are you trying to horn in on Lifer's bit? I am pretty sure they will get to the Sun Belt tournament since everyone in our league gets to go. I am cautiously optimistic about next year's team. Since we could easily start three freshmen and a sophomore there will probably be games where they struggle to put it all together. By the time the Sun Belt tourney rolls around they could be hitting on all cylinders and ready to make some noise. Good things are happening for the basketball team, and I look forward to seeing how this all turns out.
  22. Seeing as how it was illegal to bring guns on college campuses in Virginia I could point out the other side of this coin and say that current laws are completely ineffective at stopping some crazed idiot from being a crazy idiot (Va Tech shooter). I am sure Rudy will correct me if I am wrong, but most police agencies have changed their thinking on active shooter scenarios and will immediately move to confront the shooter instead of waiting for SWAT. This was one lesson learned from the Columbine tragedy. Also bear in mind that CHL holders commit crimes at a far lower rate than police officers and you never hear anyone saying cops shouldn't be allowed to carry wherever they go...
  23. About the only thing I think TTG might have missed is including Avery Redmond and Jamie Egenti on your list. I know they are walk-ons and ones who play even less than normal for walk-ons. However, since the list of active scholarship players is so short...
  24. Any minute now Lifer should be along to say we have no chance...
