Nick Gerber QB '17 (Levelland) [Verbal: TJC]
Army of Dad replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
That's true, though the level of competition can be very uneven once you drop down into 4A (and even at the big schools is certain districts or regions). I'd think that evaluating a QB on his stats would be tougher to do fairly at that level than if he were a 6A kid in the metroplex. -
Those who actively supported Benford after four (FOUR!?) season of awful basket basketball. The first ever loss in school history to a D2 school and two 20 loss seasons. They willfully deluded themselves and set themselves up for the scorn and derision and after the kicking the fire Benford crowd has taken over the last four years turnabout is fair play.

Hey we're only one game out of the all important top 12! ?

MGB: Late night hoops rewind: Rice 101, UNT 79
Army of Dad replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
"The real zinger was that UNT gave up 100 points for the second time this year. UNT coach Tony Benford has said since he took over the program that he wants his team to establish its identity on the defensive end. UNT isn’t coming close to reaching that goal." Oh I think Benford coached teams have a defensive identity, it's just not what we want it to be... -
Charlotte thumped us at their place and that is their only conference win!

MGB: Source confirms Biagi is UNT's new assistant
Army of Dad replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't know what kind of experience he had in recruiting that area but he did have some family ties there. -

Good find. -
That would be earlier than signing day now, but is it really all that early?

MGB: Benford says Frazier OK after MRI, accident
Army of Dad replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
IF (caps intentional) Benford lied in this manner for this issue I can live with it (though a 'no comment' would be better). It's not even close to the worst thing he's done here, again big IF. If he didn't know where Frazier was I can live with that too. He might not be any good at it, but he did have a game to coach and there's little he could do about Frazier at that time anyway. As for the pics, now we are on to the funny stuff. Well done. ?? -

MGB: Benford says Frazier OK after MRI, accident
Army of Dad replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
It was reported that he was with the team earlier in the day for the pregame shoot around. It's possible Benford knew but didn't want to say for privacy reasons. This incident is pretty good fodder for jokes now that we know Frazier is ok, but I'm not that concerned about Benford's handling of this incident. Benford shouldn't have even been here to handle it so the blame lies elsewhere, IMO. -
According to The NCAA the dead period includes today.

And 1 is an appropriate qualification for HOF induction?

So as they tweak the offense for him does it become the CadeRaid? -
MGB: Source says Tommy Perry has left staff at UNT
Army of Dad replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I wonder if this was in the cards for a long time. Perry seems to be a really good coach and it looks like he served as a great piece of continuity for the players during the transition, but maybe SL is ready to move on with all of his own guys? Even if that's the case Perry should land on his feet easily. -
Can you add a +1 to your total for me?

There again the difference in coaching and schemes could be a major factor...

'17 TE Remington Lutz (Belton)
Army of Dad replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Aren't you the guy who excoriates a recruit for decommiting and 'not keeping his word'? So in these cases it's likely our coaches may have done that and you're ok with it... -

I'm sure his journey could be made better. Perhaps Temple Grandin could be the next guest lecturer...
