  1. Overlander and McCoy both make six of 10, (Walton and Hannah Christian paired with McCoy and Christian) then each make 2-3 to go to double OT where McCoy wins it with her first shot. Getting ready for dunk contest.
  2. White wins on a Jordan dunk, he took off from just inside the free throw line, by the belt logo. Um, wow.
  3. White up 23-22 at the half. This is turning into a dunk fest. Oh my this is going to be a fun year! Walton and Overlander trade 3s to start. Overlander form NBA range
  4. Jordan looks taller, Coleman looks like he has the freakishly long arms like Tony. CJ, Jacob, Coleman, Walton on green. Tony, Patton, Jordan, niko, and Al on white.
  5. Ladies doing their 15 minute scrimmage. Coach Peterson said wants to make this the toughest place to play in the country. I'm thinking about 2k in attendance
  6. Decent turnout already, ten minutes until doors open.
  7. I believe the more exact reason is that the Big 12(?) doesn't allow partial qualifiers. Had Mizzou enrolled Tony and he was declared ineligable for acedemic reasons (as an incoming freshman) then by conference rules he would never have been allowed to play. The NCAA tules allow for player like Tony to be a regular student for one year and then play. The Belt doesn't have the restrictive rules of most "major" conferences, they just follow the NCAA rules. Out of state tuition had nothing to do with it in this case.
  8. Also, and just as importantly dunk contests are fun! They get fans excited, at free events like this one that make people (especially kids) want to come back and watch games this season
  9. All of the big time transfers ruled ineligible except Jordan Mickey. Prime Time Prep rep says they will appeal
  10. I convinced my boss to bring out his kid for this event. Should be loads of fun and I bet they enjoy it!
  11. Kendrick Hogans disagrees.
  12. buzzkill, although I hear there is a demand for a no jokes/derailment rule...
  13. Oh I doubt he stays after this season. The second contract is what his level of guys are trying to get to and staying in school after this season will make that second contract farther away. I said something similar last year that Tony will show the top players that as far as the NBA goes you can get there from here.
  14. Here's hoping he stays until he has a degree! (wishful thinking, but we can dream can't we?)
  15. Just make sure you chip in with some noise too as we do our part to keep the other team's 3 point shooting lower than normal while they are in our corner.
  16. We never took our kids when they were that young, but I would just get an extra ticket so you are sure to have a place for her. You will both be much more happy that way! Even if she counts as a lap child and doesn't need a ticket the pit may well be full enough that you won't have an "extra" seat near you this season. We added a fifth season ticket last season so we wouldn't have to hassle with buying one ticket when all of our kids were there or stopping at the ticket table on youth jersey nights.
  17. That should be CMJ's cue...
  18. Oh man, what a let down
  19. We have beaten teams from big conferences at home at a decent clip in the past. We have an NBA lottery pick on our team as well as some pretty good talent around him. If I were an opposing coach from any decent mid major conference on up I would be very hesitant to come to the Pit this season. So yes, I do believe teams are afraid to play us at home. I'm disappointed that what appears to be an almost final home slate is pretty weak, but I'm willing to allow that dance partners might have been scarce. I'll still be there (probably) every game and we will still be very, um, vocal. I love the atmosphere when we are playing a "name" school, and it looks like we will miss that this season. If can build some momentum early then some of our conference games could provide some of that energy.
  20. Very underwhelming home schedule, unless the unknown home game turns out to be good. I know teams are probably afraid to play us it the Pit, but damn.
  21. Illuminati
  22. This particular incident sounds more like if the fired assistant had just been honest he would still have a job. The violations were minor, but lying and trying to cover them up is something the school can't allow.
  23. Just make sure you are loud. The Pit is an awesome experience when the fans really get into the game and gives us a tremendous home court advantage.
  24. I prefer to be right down by the court. That way I can be more involved in the action. (don't even think about shooting a three in my corner, as many opposing players have found out.) Our family takes up an entire front row and we rarely miss a game. My lovely wife is on the phone right now checking on why we haven't gotten our renewal yet...They said the proverbial check is in the mail. Can you tell we are anxiously awaiting the coming season!?
