As bad of a coach he is proving to be I can't even say that he is recruiting well and we will likely never know unless he is replaced and "his" players get to play for someone who can coach. We may not have the money, but he hasn't shown a reason to be kept around at this point and if the lottery commission ever gets their numbers right I will be more than happy to get him out of town. I still think he should be fired for cause. Losing to a DII and watching his offense should be all we need to prove it. We might have to take it in the shorts Harry, but we don't have to like it and I think all we can hope for a Shanice-like ref chasing meltdown since that will at least provide some entertainment while we get beat by inferior talent night in and night out. It's a miracle that some of the long time suffering supporters are still around. Miracles that shouldn't be counted on to continue. For all the talk of wanting alumni to reconnect, and locals to come out and support the team Benford appears to actively engaged in killing the best chance this athletic program has for successfully bringing in new fans, hooking them and keeping them for years to come. This year should have been our chance to finally take that next step. For that to have any hope now we would need to go through the rest of our schedule undefeated. A daunting task back when we all thought we were good, one that now looks impossible.

I predict we will list over 3000 every game this year. If this keeps up much longer we will be in the SMU category of attendance counters.

I wasn't trying to be funny on that one. There isn't anything funny about having the lowest RPI in the conference even when we probably have the most talent. We used to make fun of how other coaches did less with more. Now our coach is the butt of those jokes. That isn't funny, or fun.

He is at least 10 times the coach Benford is right now. Maybe his next stop (if he gets one) will get him closer to JJ, maybe a stop at a SWAC level school...

I think Rick's been coaching him up.

How about when we can expect to see some of the rebounding and defense he was talking about?

Does his contract have a set amount of time for the show or does it merely require an appearance?

He did look good. With any other coach I would say that maybe he was only given short runs to let him work his way back into the game/playing shape. Seeing as how it's Benford though I'm going with the fact that he hit a couple of shots and Benford figured that was enough out of him.

The AD and his assistant are saying what I expect them to say and basically are trying to have Benford's back. I like the fact they responded and I am pretty sure their conversation with Benford wasn't exactly the same tone or content as what they told her. They are doing way more than Benford right now by standing up and facing the music. The fact that some reasons/excuses are weak is because they are covering for someone with little to no intestinal fortitude.

I am usually the last to pick on spelling, but Jacob's name isn't even the easiest thing that Andrew can't spell.

Might want to double check that...plenty of special teams coaches get canned for that.

I talked up this team to anyone who would listen as well in an effort to get more people out to the games. Where is the puking emoticon?
