  1. You are aware that so called assault weapons come in many different calibers. In traditional hunting calibers and new ones that are also very effective. Also, 7.62x39 (typical AK pattern rifle caliber) is ballistically very similar to a .30-30. If a .30-30 is good enough to take a deer then it's Russian cousin will do just fine. Even a .223 is used in hunting, especially varmint hunting. Want to slow down the coyotes from taking your calves? An AR-15 is just the thing...
  2. Gosh I hope not, the only external safety on a Glock is on the trigger...
  3. Lol, did you even bother to read what is taught in the Eddie the Eagle program? Or my post? Nowhere did I say (or even infer) that program is designed to be a membership drive. Any child too young to handle a gun SHOULD leave the area of an unnattended gun. That way even if someone handles the gun and causes it to fire the child would be well out of the area and unlikely to be harmed. Oh and you guess wrong. I lived in rural areas as a small child and spend a good deal of time out in the country now as an adult. I know people who use your so called assault weapons as their regular hunting rifle, heck I've done so myself. You routinely attempt to use a rural upbringing as evidence you know about firearms and still routinely make uninformed statements.
  4. -66 you keep making claims about bring pro gun while making absurd statements about firearms, firearm laws, and now a safety program. http://eddieeagle.nra.org/ The kids are taught to: If you see a gun: STOP! Don't Touch. Leave the Area. Tell an Adult. How is that an extreme conservative slant? How is the NRA trying increase membership among kids with that program? Why is that program a bad thing to teach? In my opinion, that program should be taught to every child, no matter where they are raised or whether or not there is a gun in their home. If followed, those rules will save kids from harm.
  5. Green team had some really good defense, that was the difference.
  6. This is the most fun GMG game I've played in. I'm definitely in for next year. Thank you to Rage, UNTcampbell, Kram, and all the other volunteers who made this game a success!
  7. Tony's dunk was just shown as the number 1 top play on SportsCenter.
  8. I'm sure we will see a really fast 40 time from Thor between innings as he heads to the parking lot!
  9. By noon we will all need some cold beverages!
  10. And when did the mods cut off discussion because they disagreed with the poster(s) and not because the poster(s) broke the rules?
  11. For Benford I'd prefer a shock collar than a leash.
  12. Indeed, since I didn't see an inning limit in the rules...
  13. That quote can be used against the don't blame Benford camp too...
  14. Go with Thor's suggestion, just a word of caution though. The machines at that set of cages do not always work, or work well.
  15. Uh, green has also lost a player so we need a replacement too.
  16. Because its nearly impossible to get worse?
  17. In going over our calendar it might not matter. Our son has tryout that day at the same time. It looks like she might make the game.
  18. Hmm, my wife and I on the same team. We almost broke up over a a softball game when we were dating. This should be fun!
  19. Nice shot, sure to be a favorite of Thor's.
  20. If you are going to call people idiots please learn the proper usage of 'you're' and 'your'. Last season was a failure. An epic failure, after years of competitive teams. Mostly the same players, new coach and results go in the crapper. That gets fans bitching on message boards. I'm sorry you couldn't take it, but if you can't then maybe you and daddy Benford should get out of the kitchen. When teams win, coaches are usually lauded. When they lose, the coaches usually get the blame. Add in a coach that looks lost throughout most games and you get this level of criticism. For your sake, I hope your special Benford buddy is never successful in conning an AD at a big time school into hiring him. You might stroke out reading those message boards. For the rest of us, I hope he is run out of town as soon as possible.
  21. We are going to suck at basketball next season. There will be moments of individual brilliance and we might even win some games we shouldn't, but those will be smothered by the stink of failure. By no later than the halfway point those who still choose to go will feel like they are attending a funeral.
  22. Not always true. My last job was in oak cliff, right next to the end of the dart rail line there. After the DCTS train was rammed through and built I checked into commuting by rail. It would have cost more than driving and taken almost twice as long in the morning and about 1.5 times more time in the evening. If I was driving a less fuel efficient car that would have changed the results for cost, but not the time of course. I basically lived and worked at the opposite ends of the regional system. If it didn't make sense in terms of dollars or hours, that shows me there were huge problems with the system design and implementation. That is even without thinkjng about if there was a large blackout and the dart trains couldn't run...
  23. Weinbergers is awesome. Burgeusa is a good burger place with pretty good prices. Agree with MDH on breakfast at Old West.
