It's difficult, though not impossible, for things to not get better. The longer this goes on the more doubt I have of this program ever becoming what we all thought it could become.

No matter how a player arrives to campus (scholarship or walk on) they have 5 years to play 4 seasons. Blue shirts and grey shirts all still get the same 5 to play 4 timeframe.

Can UNT win one conference game with Benford as coach?
Army of Dad replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Can UNT win one conference game? Yes. With Benford at the helm? Yes. Is it likely? No. I am not ok with any likely scenario left to us this season that includes Benford remaining at the head coach for the season. -
MGB: Firing Benford midseason would be a bad move for UNT
Army of Dad replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
No he hasn't! It's always an excuse out of him and he used to not even have the guts to face our own broadcast team after some losses. Firing a coach who lost 20 games twice in four years and is on his way to doing it a third time isn't making it a spectacle or even that surprising. Waiting and telling the fan base that complete failure will be tolerated and even rewarded is the message that WB should be worried about sending. -
Waiting to do what should have been done years ago does nothing to bring us closer to a brighter future.

I thought the NCAA hasn't banned twitter (or other electronic) interaction between recruits and boosters unless it is used for banned conduct of course.

No. Also, are you really advocating that it's wise to just continually foist a crappy product onto to a consumer just because you think they might never leave? -

How about the few who actually do go? -
He actually believed Benford would turn it around this year. You might have to post again in 6 months to make sure he gets it.

How many games have you been to or watched this year? I ask because I think some players are already giving up on this coach and this season. Dismissing Benford doesn't hurt us at all. Every day we leave him there makes it worse. If it takes that long I won't be back for MBB games, probably at least for the duration of WBs time here, possibly gone for good. If this AD/school doesn't care enough to have standards for a successful program, why should I care enough to pay to watch it?

You think we will with him still here!?
-
And Benford has a real chance to lose 20 games three times in five years.

Army of Dad replied to B225's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
I don't recall people saying that. I've seen more of a 'being rated 9 or 10 in conference isn't good recruiting'. I know I've said anything more than one 4 star would be incredible since this conference only sees maybe one 4 star on any given year. -
I thought he said the decreased practices were just for Deckie and Combs?

For those of you that wish we have been done with Benford I strongly encourage you to avoid the complete BS spouted by him during radio pregame. He's got the 'talk too fast because I know I'm lying out my butt' delivery. Some comedy (or infuriating) gold in there tonight. He really talked up RVs alma mater And said it would be a tough matchup. Every team is a tough team for Benford...

You've certainly done your research on that syndrome. My condolences to any partners you've had and may have in the future. -
NCAA Considers Mandatory 14 Week Season
Army of Dad replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
Maybe just one of them? A team might want a bye at the end to prep/rest/recover for a conference championship game. -

That the "little wieners" comment is out of line and really that whole post was unnecessary. eta: especially in light of this post -
