The opportunity to really hook people in was missed (by a lot) last season. It's nothing but die hards, irrational optimists, and masochists left with an ever smaller number of people trying on UNT basketball to see if they like it. How long before something is done to arrest the slide?

Once we get an opponent with some name recognition it might get the fans in attendance to get excited. The students aren't turning out in the same numbers from early last season or the year before, but those that did come were involved and as loud as they could be. So maybe a slight advantage, but nothing like we've seen recently.

I was wearing one of my basketball t-shirts in the Reno airport this past summer when a guy walks up and says 'North Texas!?' I said yes and mentioned that we are season ticket holders for the men's team and the guy identified himself as a coach at wake forest for the ladies team. He snapped a pic of me wearing the shirt on the plane and said he was sending it to Peterson with a comment about mean green nation being everywhere.

Considering this staff's success rate 90 was being positive!

So tony Mitchell (NBA), roger Franklin (graduated, playing in Europe), and PJ&Clarke (transfer) out; Gaines, Vaughn's, and Wesley in is better? If you want to count TJ he was here last year but injured and ineligible. For that matter we shouldn't count Wesley this season then so those two are a wash. (Did I forget anyone?)
