    We are far more likely to compete with a P5 at home than on the road. Also, being able to sell 6 home games every year with 2-3 hosting a P5 over the course of your career should help recruiting.

    I agree the schedule is bad, but why won't we have four conference home games next year? Wouldn't CUSA just reshuffle the deck to compensate for UAB and maintain the same number of conference games for all members?

    I would sign up for a pay per view if the Alabama BOT in a circle drill with UAB football players. SEC fans would probably jump all over it too and that might have made up the projected shortfall.

    The statement I saw said that scholarships would be honored if a student-athlete decides to stay at UAB.

    It's pretty standard for these contracts to have a reduction clause where the payoff is reduced by the amount the coach makes at his/her new job.

    I believe the NCAA has banned the practice of naming a head coach in waiting.

    I'm in the camp that thinks buying a win (FCS or lowly FBS) for a home game is a good thing for the program. I do not think that game should be the only home OOC game. Waiting until this late in the game forces your hand into something like Portland State. The scheduling is poor at best and should have been fixed/improved years ago.

    They will use CUSA conference affiliation to cancel the football series and then jump ship causing 90's head to explode after RV whores us out to an extra P5 school every season.

    Probably since this kind of feels like when a school has postseason ban for the rest of a players eligibility.

    Has to be since he graduated from UNT he could be on the BOR.

    He could probably get away with it at a large school if he was winning conference titles. Boom goes the dynamite.

    Why can't CUSA wait before adding anyone? Sometimes the best move is no move at all.

    It was a dumb move and I don't think he would have scored even if he scooped it cleanly as there were too many UTSA players around him. I like the effort, just a poor decision. Things happen and that was not the sole reason we lost the game (only FGs from two muffed punt recoveries stand out in particular). It stands out more simply because of where it occurred during the game.

    The guys are doing great so far. We seem to have really struggled in the second half during Benford's tenure so I'll wait to get too excited until about 10 minutes into the second.

    Yeah, they had been giving up an average of 102 PPG. We didn't come close to that...

    We have their fan (yes, singular) outnumbered pretty handily - 500 or 600-1...

    So far this season there have been tons of empty seats in the student section where you wouldn't have to to worry about standing. Of course the same can be said about the rest I the Pit.
