  1. In that case we won't be able to trust any of your east Texas recruiting observations. Unless you can hear things in a player like Clint Eastwood in Trouble with the Curve...
  2. I really wish we could +1 this post. Thanks, you gave Tasty a fastball right over the plate and I was able to laugh for once tonight.
  3. It seems like he is pressing instead of letting the game come to him. (think of the bad decisions in transition this game) I hate it since he does deserve better than this.
  4. Don't forget to throw in a dash of cheating!
  5. At least some no pads football camps require linemen to bring a helmet and those are off season HS camps...
  6. Maybe, but that was also one of the few times a player could shoot without being hacked.
  7. Because that school produced a more highly valued employee than you and that employer got their product developed for them at no charge. Since the NFL treats college football as a de facto minor league I can see some logic there. It is an intriguing thought.
  8. We don't need to wait until there is a coach search to be armchair ADs.
  9. Yes, but +10 in the win column year over year counts for something.
  10. Probably, if he had shot something like 65% he would have moved up the scoring charts quite a bit.
  11. Not how I read it. More like shock followed by realization that RV is now looking to make another hire in the "big" 3 sports.
  12. I get your point Rick, but RV shouldn't speak ill of the recently departed. It would be a very rare set of circumstances to trigger anything more forthright or nasty than this.
  13. I think (and I could be wrong) that RV was here before JJ.
  14. Ok, but how long ago was that?
  15. Top 4 regular season conference finish. Multiple games above .500 in OOC (waiting for schedule to say exactly how many). Deep run in the conference tournament (semis or better). 20+ wins. Need 3 out of the four and I don't think you should extend him more than season at a time (2 at the most depending on how far over those benchmarks he goes)
  16. If say it's 50/50. Also, define successful.
  17. This, also he is very valuable jut being around the program. Helps show current and future players that you can get there (NFL) from here.
  18. Probably means Benford is safe for another season. I wonder if Jalie Mitchell is ready to be a a head coach and might be interested in coming back. (I forget who on here mentioned her first, but she would be an interesting candidate)
  19. I thought it would be tough for Jordan to crack the first team, but thought he would/could make second team.
  20. Nah, you can recognize progress and still be critical. In fact, I would argue that you should do both. 100% Pollyanna cheerleaders and 100% sourpuss are in equal measures wrong and detrimental to our shared cause.
  21. I want all of the coaches who got hired away to be very successful. I don't mind talking about them. We want to be known as a place a coach can make a name for themselves. If/when LSU makes a tournament run I'll be happy to see thread about JJ. Same goes for Aston to a lesser degree since she was here for just one year and she coaches TU. Unseemly, meh if they(AD/coaches) don't like it they can fix it by winning. If other GMG posters don't like it, well since when has this place had 100% agreement about anything? (HOD bowl, maybe)
  22. UAB finishes off the sweep 5-2. #MGSB loses early leads in all three games, falls victim to @CUSASB sweep by @uabsoftball for 2nd straight season. pic.twitter.com/vOIfw1RJsG — Mean Green Softball (@MeanGreenSB) March 8, 2015
  23. White leading Green 24-11 at the half. Green looks like a Benford coached team in year one.
