I can think of one and it's been proven repeatedly for many years. Lack of will. I really don't think as a whole UNT cares enough about athletic success.

I don't think so and neither does George Dunham.

Looks like a Will Wheaton long snapping clone.

Sadly, it wouldn't shock me to learn that he was a victim too. -
Round 2 of Facilities Improvement Started

I've seen games at SMU and the old theater stage thing at UTA. I'd have seen the new stadium, but since we stopped being competitive in MBB about 5 years ago I stopped going to road games. Did you get a chance to attend any home games later in JJ's tenure? I don't think the students at the TT game felt like they were missing out on anything because of the stadium. -
Lord knows high school football doesn't need any more unsavory activity.

Probably the healthiest attitude to have towards UNT athletics in general. -
That would be the recruiting rankings

Should I say "Thank you sir, may I have another!" Or just remain silent for another 20 loss season?

The Super Pit is a fine place to watch basketball. The biggest problem is the product on the floor over the last 4 or 5 seasons...- 198 replies

And how do we know that? Did WB put out a statement that I missed?
-
I don't follow women's soccer close enough to know. Are you asking because you follow it closely and you happen to know? Your point about Hedlunds track record is just as easily used on Benford as well. In both cases if WB didn't realize what he was getting then he did a poor job preparing for the job here.

Since we beat dead horses here, I'll continue to beat one that should be dead. No P5 school would have let a Benford level MBB coach hang around for 5 seasons. The point being is that UNT doesn't seem to really care about athletic success (or even lack of failure) all that much. It hasn't for as long as I've known about the school after I moved to Denton in '98. There are some P5 schools that have gone through similar episodes of apathy towards athletic success (looking at you Northwestern), but on the whole none of those schools tolerate such abject failure. I've heard a refrain of 'this time is different' multiple times since I moved to the area and even after I finally became a fan. Each of those times turned out that it really wasn't different. There's no real evidence this time will be different. There is a fair amount of belief, but little to no evidence. Its one thing to think that UNT should starting acting like a P5, but quite another for that culture change (s/o to @SilverEagle) to actually happen across a broader spectrum.

It didn't take him an entire year to decide to extend Hedlund...

I thought WB was waiting a full year to evaluate everyone...

Still true today...

Think of what it will be like for the guys to see what has happened to all they helped build.

MGB: The countdown of countdowns begins with UNT at No. 109

Maybe I misunderstood your post, but it seemed to me that you were talking of Scott like he will be here next season. -

Speaking of paying attention. Pretty Fred Scott has exhausted his eligibility and I know he is not longer listed on the roster on meangreensports.com... -
An idea on how to win over the DFW high school coaches

I think they did something like this last year (but not the part about the square). I think @GMG24 went to the event I'm thinking of... -

Growth in MGC and Season Tickets 2002-2014
Army of Dad replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
Well, since "our story" has a coach who has never reached .500 in any season against D1 teams and that coach was left in place after four seasons of ineptitude to be well on his way to a winless conference season and has only won a single away game over the last two seasons I'd be curious how he's going to be factual in telling "our story" without sounding like we run the one of the lousiest programs in D1. Where else would a coach get to coach his walk year after losing 20 games in half of his seasons? Then that coach gets to remain in place while guiding the program to a probable last place finish in conference play while likely missing out on the conference post season tournament losing 20+ games (again!). That's going to be one hell of a story... -
I'll be one of the last people to defend RV, but I think numbers 1&3 were set up under his watch and before WB.
