I like his sweet and spicy meatballs. *giggling* I guess I mean that both ways ...

Will anyone have the green band one that I can buy next week?
-
Those are really pretty ... I wish I had seen this thread before the game, so I could have gotten one tonight!

thanks!

Where will everyone be set up? East side of Super Pit or in the Fouts Field parking lot? Army of Dad is trying to round up some more families to come out.

This will be my first time tailgating a UNT football game. We, too, will be parking in the lot behind the dorms near the football field. Can anyone tell me what time they open & close the lots? Recommendations for what to bring (within reason) ... and, reiterating Army of Dad's note .... I cover commercial real estate and will be covering the game and new stadium for the publication I write for ... if there are any commercial real estate types, let me know and I'll give you my cell phone number to call me for where you're at and I'll come say hi and snap a photo ... my first time shooting a football game. I've covered high school games before in the old days as a stringer for the Dallas Times Herald (when I was writing for a daily paper in Northeast Texas ... so shooting the game will be fun and different.

I just went to look at ticket prices to take the family and you can get a Family Fun Pack for $75 to the conference games or $100 to the other games. That's a great deal when you think about four drinks, four food items and four tickets. Link is here: http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=1800&ATCLID=205038763#ind Now, I just need to put on my sneakers and get ready to feel the burn when hiking from Fouts Field parking with kids in tow. That should be fun ... not. Will be happy to see the pedestrian bridge next year.

We want to move over one section from where our tickets have been. When I asked the folks in the season ticket office, they said that everyone who was a season ticket holder last year gets first dibs (my words, not hers) to have the seats they had last year. Once they've processed all those requests, then they will accomodate the season ticket holders who want different seats (if available) and then the new season-ticket requests. I believe it was around Sept. 20 for the date to pay for your tickets to hold your existing seats.

I have to travel to Austin about once a month for work. I may just have to schedule my business trip to coincide with the UNT game. Hate that it's a Tuesday night because I can't get the kiddos down there on a school night.
-
We got our notice last week and we're going to add that fifth season ticket this year to our usual four. We'll be behind the basket by the players' bench again. Opposing team three-point shooters beware - the loud family will be there again! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

2011 Gmg Bowl: One Of The Funnest Days Ever!
ArmyOfMom replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
I had a great time watching all the folks and putting faces with screen names. It was also fun to see my honey play football after years of him sharing tales of his high school football days. -
You know I love you, but please don't make me choose between you and Texas. I can love you both, I think.

We have taken the kids a few times to support Collin Mangrum and when I yell/cheer, people turn around and look at me weird like something's wrong with me. Last game I attended, the family in front of me actually left and sat on the other side of the coliseum (of course, I could see them b/c there were so few people there.) The friends with the Mangrum family patted me on the back and said, 'we're glad you're sitting with us. Why did they come to a game if they didn't think people were going to cheer?' It is definitely a sad spectacle to attend the SMU games. We went to one game where a few frats sat together and yelled and cheered, but then, most of them left before the game was over. It isn't like there is a mad traffic rush to beat, either. But, then again, our voices ring loud across the entire arena. Great acoustics when it's empty. I took my daughter last Saturday and we went to Twisted Root after the game. A handful of SMU students walked by us and said "Go Ponies! We saw you at the game!" I laughed and said "you probably heard me at the game!" They cracked up and said "yeah, everyone heard you!" *shrug* I miss Mean Green basketball, but do enjoy supporting the Mangrums. (I know most of you are going to consider me a traitor. But, be kind. I did NOT buy any SMU gear and our middle son usually wears a UNT shirt to the game, as a matter of principle.)

Yep, that was our bunch.

*sigh* We were there for the heartbreak. We all shoulda had nametags with our handles on them. Personally, I was eyeballing everyone and wondering who was who from the GMG family. Since there were only two of us with our kids in tow, I think I know who Mrs. GreenGoblin is now.

The refs are making some, shall we say, interesting calls...

How Many Braving The Conditions Tonight?
ArmyOfMom replied to calvin's topic in Mean Green Basketball
And we did our part to publicize it, too. I posted about the game on FaceBook and texted all my Denton friends to bring their families out tonight. -

He is looking very manly out there doing it, too. His Minnesotan heritage is coming out today. -

My honey is out shoveling our driveway now so we can take the family (plus a neighbor's kid who wants to go). From talking with neighbors who have been out, there are bad spots, but they all say being cautious and driving slowly made the trips ok. -
Here is the link at the UNT website http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1800&ATCLID=205087705 about the free tickets tonight.

Down by 18, less than 2 left...

Video might be better, but these announcers are just terrible.
-
If it's any consolation, our 11-year-old asked if he could skip his school obligation to go to the UNT game. I told him, we'll make it; just a little late.

Maybe I'm having a blonde moment, but I don't get what's funny.
