We really need to win these next two games if we want a decent turn out. Simple as that.

Party on the Plaza: UNT and WFAA Channel 8
GreenGuy123 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Lived in Maple in 2006 for my first year at UNT. My RA was very shy and barely spoke. I didn't play World of War Craft so I didn't make a lot of friends there, but had a great time regardless. However, I can say that placing a pillow over the door vent does not keep noise from leaving the room. In other news, that male reporter (Ron Corning?) sounds like the most insincere person ever. -
Great story, thanks for posting! Proud to have him represent our school. Since this will probably turn into a political argument.......FFR, Kram, Censored By Laurie, I want a clean fight. 3, 2, 1....GO!

You shouldn't mock Jesus on GMG!

Damnit, stop toying with me. I thought it was the schedule.

Yeah, KSU fans are some of the nicest/respectable that I have come across.

Hell, I'll take a 4 star any day of the week.

Listen to yourself. Just because a group of people happen to have a similar characteristic in their beliefs, doesn't mean that every single atheist has the same set of beliefs. That is like saying that because one African American male commits a crime, that all African American males are criminals. It's ridiculous.

How lucky did we get landing this guy. Not only is he one of the best athletes to ever come through here, but he is humble, a great guy, and really has pride for his school. Can't wait to follow him throughout his NBA career.

Operation fill up the Wing - part deaux
GreenGuy123 replied to GreenFlag's topic in Mean Green Football
Wholeheartedly agree. Gimmick or not, those UTSA people had the right idea. -
Yeah, I really enjoyed Ocean of Soul. Now of course, their music playing abilities were no where near the level of the GB...But lets be honest, they were a lot more entertaining. I think HBCU bands are made for football games and really know how to pump up the crowd. Don't get me wrong, I think the GB are amazing, and in terms of music and technical ability, better than any other marching band in the nation.

University of Houston's OC resigns after Texas State loss
GreenGuy123 replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
I don't see how the OC is fired after one game. And if that is the case, shouldn't the HC be held responsible too? I mean its not like the OC just came into the game threw out a bunch of plays that the HC didn't know were going to be called. Did they not have Summer to work this stuff out....as a coaching staff and team? Seems a little ridiculous. There has to be something else going on. -
I honestly don't think Fran is that great of a coach, and I am happy that he did not come here. If you look at his "success," a lot of it has to do with a little guy buy the name of LaDanian Tomlinson. Gary Patterson was able to capitalize on that success and really take TCU to another level. Other than that, Fran hasn't really done anything that special.

Oh stop bragging and prove it.....any pics?

Sorry Mavs fans

There is no way that trade can even happen. The Nets have nothing to make a viable trade, and I seriously doubt that Orlando will give Dwight Howard what he wants. -
This is somewhat unrelated, but...I know may were pretty mad when the UNT System offices moved from Denton to Dallas. But yesterday, I was driving through downtown on Commerce, I look to my left, and I see a gigantic UNT System sign on the side a building. I must say it looks pretty nice in the heart of Downtown Dallas. Felt pretttttaayyyyy proud.

UTSA brings College Football To San Antonio
GreenGuy123 replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
It is crazy to think that Fort Worth will soon overtake Dallas in terms of population. Fort Worth is booming with so many headquarters and businesses moving there. I really think the same growth that happened north of Dallas is going to and now happening to Fort Worth. The only thing is that Fort Worth's city limits extends all the way to TMS (or close). I'm guessing in the next 20 years, the drive from Denton to Fort Worth will look like the drive to Dallas and not consist of open land and fracking sites. -
Effin Magnets... How do they work?
GreenGuy123 replied to golfingomez's topic in Mean Green Football
lol I like the ICP reference. -
I agree with 97. I no longer care about what goes on in Pony land. I don't support them. I don't have any connections to them. As far as I'm concerned, they are not relevant to anything we do. Any interactions with SMU fans/students have left me shaking my head in disbelief at the arrogance, haughtiness, and pretentiousness they portray. In fact, we could cancel the whole football series coming up and I'd be just fine with it. Not sure why we even consider them a rival excluding geography. Aren't rivals supposed to have a healthy mix of hate and RESPECT? I don't respect their collective attitude and would rather not even be associated with them. Just my thoughts. GMG!

Thinking about UNT’s window of opportunity
GreenGuy123 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I believe Jerry was actually referring to his window of opportunity to win a championship as the owner. Regardless, I think our window of opportunity is as open as it has been in years...maybe ever. I truly think that if we did not make this conference move, our window would be almost shut...for a long long time. The only things that would be going for us would be the new stadium and the basketball team (depending on what they do in the next couple of seasons). This move, plus the stadium, allows us to sell football recruits the chance to play new regional rivals (with trophies in the works), greater TV coverage, and the chance to play in a greater variety of bowls. Plus more stuff that I'm too tired to think about. I believe our window has opened. It's brand new, so it will be much harder for it to come crashing down. And the weather feels great. You feel that? I think I just felt a breeze blow through that newly opened window and the forecast looks great. Except for some reason the sky looks green.- 7 replies
