  1. I'd rather not bring in more FCS schools, especially from Texas. Just more competition in terms of recruiting. But if we were going to bring one in...UTSA over Texas State any day of the week.
  2. Ditto
  3. I think it would be a good idea to upgrade the entertainment factor (sound, music, video boards, cool/funny videos) for those people who aren't really interested in the game. At least the atmosphere could give them a good reason to come.
  4. If we win this game...I'm hoping the students don't rush the court.
  5. I think our O-Line will be better next year and give our running game a chance to succeed. Also, I am definitely excited for some of the receivers that have showed signs of developing into that go-to-guy. Our defense has improved and we are getting Marcus Trice, but hopefully some of the younger secondary players can step up. Also, I hope DM can beef up our D-line a little bit. However, I think we will have a good chance to win conference games next year.
  6. I'll stay in the Sun Belt if we can get LA Tech, NMSU, and/or UTSA.
  7. I'd really like to know what our status is...from our school leaders. As long as I know we are lobbying, then I would be okay.
  8. UNT vs. UTSA "Battle of the Birds" But Yeah, I'd take La Tech and UTSA/Utah St.
  9. Although I don't comment as often as many others on this board, I'm thankful that we have such a great fan forum. Happy Thanksgiving!
  10. Offense I too am impressed with DT. You can see that he is improving and stepping up to be the QB we need. As our O-Line improves, I think DT will too. As for the receivers, I think they show promise and am excited to see what they can do next season. Of course, there are plays where they should be catching easy balls, but hey, they'll learn and hopefully do something special. I think Bynes, Delgado, and Chancellor will be solid for us next season. I'd like see more plays directed at Chancellor as a slot receiver. I think with his small size and good speed, he would really excel in the slot. Not sure what to expect from our running game next year, I'm hoping Byrd can step up...wish Hamilton had a year left, he showed a lot of promise and looked great when he had to step in. Defense I think this defense has a lot of potential and has showed that it has some play makers. Okay, tired to typing. Sorry. Go MEAN GREEN!
  11. Yeah, I am definitely joining the Mean Green Club next year. Mainly for the tailgate access. I want to say I tailgated about 3 games this year and it was a beating dragging all that stuff up near the hill. Especially when the side road is closed off right after the game. And I really don't want to tailgate at Fouts, I just really like the feeling of tailgating and overlooking Apogee (great view of the homeside/pressboxes).
  12. It would be nice to develop a basketball rivalry with Tech...(of course, with us winning tomorrow and all future games).
  13. If we can get past WKU...then we can talk about possible bowl eligibility. Either way, I am proud of these guys and think the coaching staff is doing an excellent job. For the first time in a long time, I feel good about the direction of our football team.
  14. Don't blame them.
  15. JESUS H! This is the worst sports week ever. Rangers, Cowboys, uncertainty in realignment, and now this!? Hope they let Franklin play.
  16. Is it really that big of a deal? This forum is, for the most part, pretty informal. He still got his message across and I really don't see a point to call him out on it. I thought it was an informative post regardless of capitalization.
  17. Great game. Lousy stadium to be showcased on ESPN 2. Don't know how FIU killed us, but the Sun Belt race is going to be fun to watch...hopefully it will be fun for us too.
  18. Now I like the chairback idea!
  19. Hey, I'm just speaking from my experiences around 4 or 5 frats during my time as an undergrad. I don't want to make all frats out to be what I described, but I know for a fact that a lot of them fit that description. As for the comment about the "hipsters," I happen to study and work in a great department that many would consider to be very "liberal," where a majority of the students and professors engage and sympathize with "occupy" movement, and I guarantee you 90% of those people are not going to the games. I get it, it's an individual choice to support your school or not. I can't help that it bothers me.
  20. right there with you buddy
  21. I am former undergrad and current grad student at UNT. I usually sit on the student side, but decided I would sit on the home side for the second half of the ULM game. I have to say I really enjoyed sitting on the home side. Great view of the game, band, and students, plus the sun wasn't beaming on my face. However, I did miss being in the midst of loud chants and great enthusiasm that I get with the student side. Though I loved my experience on the home side, its very family friendly and I don't get the kind of laughs that I get on the student side. For instance, during the Indiana game, I would yell "Go back to Canada Indiana!" Most people thought it was funny because it was obviously ridiculous and had nothing to do with the game or logic. I really can't imagine doing that on the home side without getting blank stares from grandma and little Timmy. Either way, I enjoyed my time on the home side, but think that they need to be more involved in the game. If we could get those full stadium NORTH TEXAS chants, it would be a start.
  22. Nice to see the Sun Belt on national tv. Apart from that, I'd love to see a win with a 3/4 packed house this saturday.
  23. Thank you. I now know the protocol and will do so in the future.
  24. Haha wow, I was totally agreeing with you until you brought up politics. You must be very conservative, your name is DodgeFan. He's not coming back man, times have changed, its okay to make PROGRESS sometimes.
  25. Yeah, I bet it is about the WS game.
