Ya I'm just going to put it out there that I am also on the team. I Didn't want to say anything to avoid the stigma that comes along with admitting to be a male cheerleader. Any way I have confirmed there was a call made to her before anyone else in the chain of command, and thats all that was said on Facebook (we had our own mini version of the fired/interim/new coach thing). As for the cheers/chants, we had a list of 15 or so until we were told at the first football game not to use the letter "U" or anything with "University" or "eagles". So there goes all but about four. And this is where the rant starts: Saturday was my 28th and final home Fball game to cheer at and it was easily the worst for participation on the Alumni side. Thank God for the Eagle Angels and random wives/moms in the crowd. With out them I would rather yell at a brick wall. It is pathetic trying to start any kind of chant on that side. We have arguments about who has to go to cheer on the alumni side. I love cheering at basketball games not because the team wins, but because I only have to attempt to get the alums off their buts for 30 seconds every other timeout. If it wasn't for the T-shirt toss I would think you were dead. Are you jealous of the KState fan's K-S-U CATS chants. That is what a real fan base sounds like. As for those of you who do participate, I know who you are (mainly because there are so few) and I am truly grateful for your support. Thank you. GMG.

I was wondering if Rick V. personally calls everyone who bashes him on this board? I am asking because I am a personal friend of the cheer leading captain, Ashley. Ashley received a personal call from RV about her Facebook comment "the athletic department seems to be making a lot bad decisions lately". This was referring to several different thing, not necessarily the Canales situation. Anyway, from what I understand RV was professorial and explained the hire which is totally OK with me; almost refreshing to see that he cares and stands by his decision. The part that I am disgusted with that He called her on a Sunday night, and much worse that he got her number by having his son track it down through shared acquaintances. Aren't there bigger fish to fry than a cheerleaders facebook page? Just curious about your opinions.

If I remember right, my first year of going to basketball games (06-07) there was an area in the corner over the home bench where some sponsor had a couch and recliner set on a platform for contest winners to sit on. Anyone know what ever happened to that? It was similar to StarPower's Dream Seats at Mavs games.

The preview took place at the pit, I was there. Court was ready to go underneath the stage that had been set up. As for the scrimmage, I heard from a BBall player at the game that we had indeed won the half-court, make-it-take-it, shirts vs. skins match.

From what I was told by one of the drum majors, Troy's band was miked and amplified, and the played easy song. As for the cheerleaders, they were welling LOCK THE GATE not block the kick.

I hate to digress and move back to the original topic but the difference I noticed was Ira Smith was suspended and Jeremy Phillips was moved to linebacker. Therefore Ira wasn't able to miss any tackles, and Phillips wasn't in his usual spot to blow coverages.

I've been to every Belt School except MTSU, and ULM is by a hair in front of ULL for tailgating experience.

I've personally seen every game at Fouts since my freshman year (06-07) and 3-4 away games every year. Even I (a lowly sociology major) know that in last nights situation when you have 1:15 left on the clock you need to call timeout as soon as the play is over, not 14 seconds later. This isn't the first time I've seen horrendous clock management. Does anyone know how Dodge lets this happen? Is it because Southlake was never in a clock management situation? Is it because the hurry-up O wasn't practiced enough? Was it Canales's call? Anyone have a theory??

I think it would be best for this team and national publicity if RV pitches "NT Starter" to Discovery Channel. They can run it with all the danger shows; Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, and Ax Men.

Just so everyone knows, the Talons did light the tower last night for Vball and Soccer wins during the pep-rally.
