this shouldn't come as a shock to any of you. It also shouldn't be shocking when we get handed another loss on Saturday. This program is at an all-time low and it will take a colossal effort to pull it out of the muck. I didn't even watch the Marshall game and really am debating going to this one as well.

It's not that I believe that he deserves this type of shaming. I do take issue with items that I feel are very problematic for this upcoming coaching hire (if conducted by RV). 1.) His coaching hires have proven to not be competent and while he has raised money to produce facilities that is all negated by the losing history that North Texas sports recently has. 2.) His continued presence hinders our abilities to reach out to coaches and get someone in here that can make a difference. Coaches all around will know that Mac was fired directly after the Portland St. debacle. Coaches will know that our fanbase collectively wants him gone. Coaches will know that will RV hires them that there is a VERY small chance that he will be here in 2 years. As far as bringing up the random conference championships that have occurred since RV was here.... that is pointless. We diehards love the soccer, tennis and golf programs but that isn't what people look to when gauging a 37k student university's sports successes.

Let me suggest that it isn't that we are too good for him but that he is too good for us. Toledo would match anything we threw at him. Combine that with obvious great expectations that fans of college sports have for this guy and you will see why it is pointless to mention his very name as a candidate for North Texas. I can do one better though too.... This guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Campbell_(American_football_coach) is perfectly groomed to be a coach in the OHIO area. HE HAS ZERO EXPERIENCE outside of Ohio. From birth to current job he has been in Ohio. Played in Ohio.... GA'ed in Ohio...... Coached in Ohio. Teams like Cincinnati and eventually Ohio State need to look at guys like Matt Campbell........ not teams like North Texas. Move him out of everything he has built up (ties, reputation among athletes etc..) and I can almost guarantee that you clip him.
