Why wouldn't he? He took the UT job in 2015 and the 2 years he has there as ST/Tight Ends is all the college experience he has. Given the opportunity to head to Houston with their new coaching staff (also makes sense) and that hasn't happened as of yet.

Pretty clear that it is part of the Cowboys-UNT Partnership in a way to put a familiar name in front of our players/recruits and say "look at the ex-Cowboys player working with the Mean Green". He isn't a coach.... and probably won't be.

It honestly seems like there is one player like this each game and they rotate between who is going to suck ass for the night but YET continue to try and shoot their way out their slump. Keith Frazier against Charlotte was f'in 1-11 and 0-7 Reese against San Diego was 2-9 Deckie Johnson was 1-9 and 0-4 against SHSU Deckie Johnson AGAIN against UTA with 1-12 and 0-5 Guess what? That's 4 losses right there and I am not stupid enough to say that those players cost us those games but that kind of PISS POOR shooting for the evening has to be squashed. Doesn't matter because this is message board content and it won't change the fact that Benford will be gone at the end of this year and that our program is in the absolute shiter.

Buddy's nephew is good friends with him and he was talking about reopening his recruitment months ago. TBH if he thinks he can find a better spot then we should give the scholarship to someone else all together. He isn't really that athletic and we have many other positions of need.

While I hate their guts UT-San Antonio has got the #1 class. What they can get out of them is up to their coaches and their ability to coach but to expect that a new coaching staff can come in and perform in both recruiting and on the field results is obviously not too much to ask. UT-San Antonio was 11th last year http://247sports.com/Season/2016-Football/CompositeTeamRankings?Conference=C-USA in recruiting class rankings on 247 This year they are #1 http://247sports.com/Season/2017-Football/CompositeTeamRankings?Conference=C-USA and while that still accounts for Javaris Steward who won't ever see a day of football.... that still places them well above us. We are ranked #9............just as we were last year. I know we have some cards up our sleeve and I actually expect a couple of more 3*+ players to commit I also don't feel like being in awe of our conference mates is necessarily a bad thing.

Want nothing but the best for us but anyone that thinks we have a "sure thing" is drinking the juice. We need a bit of a reality check when it comes to what this year actually proved at the QB position. If your butt clenched every time Fine threw the football....it's ok....that is a natural reaction to years of bad qb play. He will grow and he will get better (if he stays healthy) but let's not proclaim ourselves as all set at qb.
