some of these guys look noticeably bigger or healthier than last year... Roster

so the "staff" of the site wrote this? So a 5 in Defensive Line...a 5 in Linebackers....an 8 in Secondaries...but an 8 overall on Defense?

Good to know....that's right MTSU....you are overrated! Straight from their forum "I have something nice to share. I'm currently in Lewisville, TX (20 mins south of Denton). We are visiting in-laws, and there are three who attend UNT. Their perpective on the upcoming season is way different. They know how bad they are. It's been fun talking football with them so far. When we arrived to their home, one of the cousins was wearing a Mean Green shirt and I rolled up in my MT bowl shirt. It's been fun. We all watched the Dallas preseason game last night. We're going to take the tour of the new stadium on Sunday. Can't wait!" I want the address of the three defeatists this clown is staying with!

I don't see the 2009 Ohio-UNT game on here so this list is to be taken with a grain of salt. 50 Painful Outcomes (minus Ohio vs UNT 2009)

MTSU vs UNT So in looking at the numbers again.....I am not really that afraid of MTSU this year. So they have improved? Well I am willing to bet we have as well. I want to take a look at crucial errors in the game and see if we might have those fixed or the possibility of having them fixed: 1.) 4th and 6 at MTU 19 Jeremy Knott 36 yard field goal BLOCKED. Score 0-0 2.) 2nd and 5 at UNT 33 Riley Dodge pass complete to Jamaal Jackson for 3 yards, fumbled at the NoTex 36. Defense then stopped them at the three and forced a FG Score (10-0) Then out comes Lance instead of Cam who then runs a 66 yd TD Score (10-7 MTSU) 2nd Quarter 3.) 2nd and 15 at UNT 26 Riley Dodge pass intercepted by Kevin Brown at the NoTex 46, returned for 40 yards to the NoTex 6. The subsequent score CANNOT be held against the Defense. Score is now (20-7 MTSU) The Defense then draws out a long possession by MTSU after our Offense failed to connect (3 and out). DRIVE TOTALS: MIDDLETENN drive: 12 plays 98 yards, 03:01 MIDDLETENN TD Score is Now (27-7) 4.) 4th and 1 at MTU 43 Riley Dodge rush for no gain to the MTnSt 43. Dasher comes back out and tries to hammer one in but gets held to a FG by the Defense. If you are 4 and 1 at the 43 why are you not punting? Put them at their goal line! Its arguable 5.) 1st and 10 at MTU 11 Riley Dodge rush for 6 yards, fumbled, recovered by MTnSt at the MTnSt 10. Where is Lance at this point? Then Lance comes out in the next drive and nails down another TD in his 4th carry of the day (total of 5 carries). (Score 21-30 MTSU) 6.) 3rd and 7 at UNT 46 Dwight Dasher pass complete to Wes Caldwell for 23 yards to the NoTex 23, MIDDLE TENN penalty 16 yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct accepted for a 1ST down. 7.) 1st and 10 at UNT 39 Dwight Dasher sacked by Team for a loss of 4 yards, fumbled, recovered by MTnSt Benjamin Cunningham at the NoTex 39, NORTH TEXAS penalty 15 yard Unsportsmanlike Conduct accepted for a 1ST down. Failure to recover the ball and a subsequent KILLER PENALTY putting them at our 24 Yd Line and leads to a TD..this occurred not 1 PLAY AFTER THE LAST BAD CONDUCT CALL! Grow up Defense! (Score 37-21). Honestly this drive is the nail in the coffin of the game. 8.) 2nd and 10 at MTU 35 Riley Dodge pass intercepted by Jeremy Kellem at the MTnSt 0, returned for no gain for a touchback. (Score 37-21 MTSU) Destroyed our chance with 5 minutes left to make something happen by getting intercepted. Drive Summary DRIVE TOTALS: NORTHTEXAS drive: 8 plays 46 yards, 01:32 NORTHTEXAS INT what makes it worse....it happens all over again..... 3rd and 10 at MTU 30 Riley Dodge pass intercepted by Kevin Brown at the MTnSt 15, returned for 10 yards to the MTnSt 25. this is now two blown potential TDs in a row due to Interceptions.... and the game is over at this point. So lets see..... How many times did we get our FGs blocked last year? Will we see improvement on this? Fumbles.....two in this game (1 to Riley and the other to JJ)....lets work on tucking the ball deep into your chest. See the movie "Higher Learning" for tips on how to have those who are fumble prone to become fumble proof. You knew I was going to say it but three interceptions by Riley had distance to them....15, 35 and 20 yd throws respectively. He just isn't a distance thrower and can ruin drives when he is forced to throw distances. I foresee both Nathan and Thompson being more adept to throwing a distance pass. Most of all.....look at Lance's stats for the game L. Dunbar 5 carries 101 yds 20.2 yards per carry avg 2 TDs 66 yd long So where the hell was Lance most of the game?? Everytime he got the ball he rammed it down the MTSU's defense. Well the thing is he only started 8 games last year right?? In that this was the 4th of the 12 games that when he was actually realized for his talent it was too late. The next game at ULL when he actually started he put up 32 Carries for 187 Yds and 4 TDs. But statistically he was doing better against MTSU...he just wasn't given the play time. This year....please....when you see another potential firecracker and gamewinner show his face.....please do not delay until after the game to decide to let them shine to the fullest potential. No telling if Lance could have had 4 TDs against MTSU had he been given the chance. My rant is over now. Just know that I am not afraid of MTSU and can't wait to watch us upset them on their own field.

This list is a joke...our acceptance rate, our programs offered, our research developed, our campus, our Greek programs, our cost, our Sports Teams, our graduation rate.....all of these things rank in the top 5 public schools in Texas on any other site. I have often seen sites that compare our ranking with that of Tech in both graduation rates, Average SAT/ACT, and apparently we have a lower acceptance rate than Tech. Again...this list is garbage. Jackson probably failed to write a check to Forbes for the endorsement.

Harry...though I love the guy....can we all not admit that we are at least slightly more psyched that the QB this year will be a little less accident prone. Not to rant...cause that has been done...but I do want to say that anytime the QB is taken out of the game for injury (at least for us) it has lead for an almost collapse on the typically strong offensive behalf. This is rightfully so...when your team captain and key player is taken out time after time for injury it is only natural that it is concerning and disheartening to say the least. Both our boys (Tune and Thompson) are easily more capable of taking a hit that will not ensure them being taken out of the game (esp. since Nathan put on some supposed muscle weight).

I too did a 4 yr stint in the Navy but when they come to town or vice versa I am the first to shout them down! GMG!
-
I could tell he has the hitch from the photos I saw of him....but worth looking into for sure. The argument as to why he had such a powerful Junior Yr (over 4,000 yds passing) is that his receiver core was phenomenal. Many of them have already signed and committed to large schools. I wish nothing but the best for him...but at the least I did see a "ULM offer" on one of the sites so at least he has something.

All this speculation is going around as to what if and what happens if this comes about..... the only thing you need to do is to get to the Rice Home Opener with no less than 5 people in tow...preferably 10. Drink your beers before the game but get your butt in the seat to let the guys know we are there and we want them to succeed. I've got my entourage for Rice...do you?

In the last few days we have read story after story of nothing but greatness coming out of these guys. He have new leaders on the team like Craig, Nathan, Derek and others who have all done major changes to get ready for this year. I cannot wait for these guys to get their chance on the field to prove their mettle.

Does anyone have a list of CEO's who are Alumni? Then again...unless they founded the company they may be restrained from giving contributions worthy of naming the stadium after the company they represent.

Funny you mention the Iron Claw. I am actually friends with Kevin (haven't seen him in 10+ yrs) and was friends with his daughter back in high school. I never knew about Fritz until I toured his little house that he kept on Kevin's property in Lake Dallas. It was there that I saw the pics of the "Iron Claw" but I never knew that they people purported that we got our claw from him...kinda makes sense though.

My choices based off of notable Alumni 1.) Meatloaf Stadium (only if he opens with a free concert) 2.) Eagles Stadium (only if the now touring Eagles open it up) 3.) Your My Boy Blue Stadium (RIP Joseph Crenshaw) 4.) Mean Green Stadium (for obvious reasons)

Happy Birthday Brett and thanks for what you do.

what about taking on his nickname as our mascot? I think 90% of the nation that has heard of us believes this notion as well.
