combine your points with the fact that the average person in DFW doesn't relate to SMU and has premonitions about the school itself...and you have a school that could never truly harness the Dallas potential like a public school could. SMU fans may call this thought asinine but they know deep down that it is the truth. How many butts are in the seats of schools like SMU? Touted for being an elite (perception wise) school with elite money to back it. When fans shout out and post things like "your students will be our employees and servants" or "your graduates flip my kids burgers on the way to the beach" how is anyone going to get behind that mentality? The two things that hold TCU back from 50k in the seats everygame is that it is a private Christian University (not a slight on my behalf) and that their colors are purple. Lets be real.....no man truly feels comfortable sporting purple.

I read earlier this week that SMU's AD had to open up far more tickets for TCU to acquire in that the demand was off the charts. This would surely reflect that you can expect around a 60/40 split tonight in SMU's favor as far as butts in the seats.

We got compared with Akron quite a few times.... so I wanted to see what their stadium opener looked like. Question? Does that school not have school colors? Look at the crowd! Akron Opening Day Attendance (for Akron) started with 27,881 the followed with this: 18,340 (after winning the last one) 16,381 20,802 10,927 9,962 Is that scary or what? I mean...I get that being 3-9 is disheartening but we are 5-34 since 07 and still can put up almost 24k at ole Fouts Field? To end the year with your new stadium with only 10k in the stands is embarrassing.

No No No ...there is no way this cost 250k. His take in for being a coach recruiter is 35k (but negotiates) and that is far more time consuming.

one last thing....UNT has done a decent job of utilizing Social Media but needs to step it up. Anyone that has UNT as their school on Facebook should be getting invites to groups revolving around the school and esp the athletics. There is no better way to communicate with people on an easy medium like that keeping them updated with Sporting Events...Watching Parties....etc. Offering a free-ride to an aspiring Social Media Marketer would be a fantastic way to have someone lead the charge in coordinating this and at a low cost.

Two things..... 1.) The idea of targeting more of Denton County....I agree in that there are more than enough fans to buildup a fanbase that we haven't even touched. Start the billboards in Lewisville and stop short of Gainesville. Incorporating more of the team accomplishments on the billboard's empty space (or even a couple just for the teams) is a good idea...but one that we could think of on our own. 2.) How do I get that man's job??? I am gonna nuke my career counselor. I agree with the post above that this was a political move to get clout within the CUSA's decision makers circle.
