585,000 in the Metro....and there are 600,000+ in Denton County. You can subtract about 200,000 of those in that they are in areas far closer to Dallas than Denton but still there is a sizable population in close driving vicinity that should and can be harnessed to get attached to the school. I like the thought of putting up MG banners across the city (not just the square) to get the brand all over the city of Denton (110,000+ people). I also like somehow associating the area with the school (i.e. "THE PRIDE OF NORTH TEXAS) or even down to the county level. Nienas validated (as RV mentioned yest) what we all knew and gave us the 3rd Party perspective to get funding approved for these projects. All this talk in funding means I will be answering the next fundraiser call (rather than ignore) and prob shell out again. You should too. $5-$1 Million...a gift is a gift.

and these are all things that have been expressed on this board as well...and have some truth to them. I don't believe he had stated that Bower would not come here...but more like whether or not he would be effective. Even if someone mentioned that Bower wouldn't come here there can be truth in that statement....he has not left that area since pre-college and is deeply ingrained in the community of Hattiesburg.

One of them just mentioned that Canales might be a good option. They keep saying "why are we not like Boise St??" "We have a ton of opportunity". Good and long discussion here with callers calling in too. They keep harping on finding a young up and coming coach that can build his career not someone who has been proven in the past (i.e. Fran and Leach). They also mentioned how Bower is too much of a gamble....that he may not be hungry enough for this position. Again...they keep saying young and hungry coach that can prove himself (like ACU's coach).

So...in fairness I give plenty to the school but I am not sure that they have everyone's phone number cause I am called at least once a week by a line that I saved as "UNT Phoneathon" and trust me...outside of my closest friends and fam it is the number that dials me the most.. 2nd Bold.....lets leave weight out of it...thats just tasteless

Mosley...it is unfortunate but the way things are is that "perception is reality". A guy who I had met right after the Clemson game...goes to school at UNT but cheers pretty much only for TAMU. When I saw him earlier this week he made the statement "what happened to those predictions you gave me?" and all I could answer with is "do you know how many starters we have out or what QB we are on?". He couldn't answer that question. When I explained why we were where we are at and even then how two games were 1 pt defeats and the others (minus Army) all within our grasp he then better understood the situation. The point is that he....and many others just have the perception that we hit the field and we lose under TD...they don't login to GMG and educate themselves on the schematics...they just presume. It is those presumptions that we have to destroy but lets be real....unless we sit down one on one with those that presume...it ain't gonna happen
