It is exactly this. Our donors are being fleeced for donations to upgrading facilities and we have another massive one with the Athletic Center in progress. Those same donors are not happy about mediocre football but at the same time are being asked for millions to go towards these upgrades that... only strengthen the program's ability to recruit better talent. We can't offset these requests with revenue from football games (absence of attendance) so hence the conundrum. *Edit Don't listen to King. I know more than he does 😉

You would think that barely beating Jacksonville State at home might be a little more embarrassing than losing to the team that knocked off Purdue last year in the tourney. Or maybe even losing to the powerhouse Louisiana Tech in 2018. I guess they just don't care to research their opponents.

You have to bear in mind that his Dad is aging, has early stages of dementia and lives in Weatherford with Grant's Mom. His whole family (and they are very close) is in DFW. He won't just jump ship if just any P5 job comes offering (at least IMHO). He can continue to build here and while obviously the attendance woes continue I also agree that the buck needs to be passed to the lack of spirit groups mobilizing students to attend games. Maybe the team needs to get out and promote in public or even call out their fellow students in class. I don't have the answer but I feel like an organic push ON CAMPUS would pay great dividends.

Exactly. Not only that but how hard is it for people to understand that the guy has a year left on his contract and hasn't been renewed and thusly it affects recruiting. Pretty simple. Yet so much of our fan base seems to ignore it or be ignorant of the ramifications of a coach with one year left on his contract not being able to pull in recruits.

Be honest. The whole nation will be after him and just like Zappe... inter-relations with him will play a huge part. I doubt we see him play for any other team than WSU.
