All About UNT

I would suggest that if they haven't already implemented an armed watch at the Medical and Admin facilities on base.... that they should. I believe that Hasan was inside of a transition facility when he started shooting as well. These are not areas that you would normally see people armed in. Last week a shooting occurred on the USS Mahan and it could have been a whole lot worse had the Rover not come through and taken the shooter out. However if that shooting had occurred at the Navy Medical facility (not the hospital in Portsmouth) then a lot more people would have possibly died due to a lack of firearm carrying watches in Admin facilities.

While it sucks that when the shooting starts that most can't defend themselves I can think of MANY people I served with that I would NEVER want to see carrying a weapon. There are a lot of crazy, nothing to lose and young misguided types in the military and giving everyone a sidearm or rifle on base would only increase the amount of shootings that occur.
