Indeed. Though - I am not afraid or vindictive. I bought all my club seats last season, attended couple of the games solo. I didn't hold my money as ransom for some fear or anger.. Of the 24 possible tickets - I used 2. I didn't rage or complain. I side on the let's just see this through, the science, the numbers. Let's keep going in the right direction. There is nothing foolish there. That's not doom and gloom either.

I am happy that a doctor who says "I don't think you can mutate yourself out of t cell immunity" is your answer. Even with snark aside, we need to get immunity first. We are not there. We are getting there... slowly. Maybe. Texas is second from the last. But -- let's ignore the first premise of this being over - which is immunity - and just act like everything is over. Let's start by demanding to know that it will 100% capacity before you support your school.

The whole pandemic thing is fluid. Hard to get a "commitment." I want a commitment to the balance of safety and fandom. I thought the AD did a fantastic job last year, but of course I don't want another year like it, but nor do I want to kill off our valued fans. We don't have many to spare. /s

When your number is called, you go. I know plenty of otherwise healthy folk who have showed up and gotten the vaccine at the end of the day when there are no-shows because of the refrigeration requirements of those vaccines.. there is not a "put it back" option. If they pulled x amount for the day and x-n shows up.. then they have some left over they must use.

That is sad news. I ran into him on many road trips and he would pop in on tailgates over the years. I can't believe it had been ~1.5 years since he visited gmg.com. Seemed like I saw him not so long ago.

@Brett Vito...and for real, congrats on getting the "honored" vs. "humbled" thing correct!

But back to the topic at hand - I am sure tailgating will be back to whatever our normal is at UNT. Hopefully people keep getting their vaccines, the data is great on it actually reducing spread, hospitalizations post vaccine is 0 (incredible)... We need people to just keep following the science and not the facebook posts. We will get there.

1) Nearly a 1/3rd of people are undecided on getting a vaccine. 2) 30% of people say they will not get the vaccine. 3) We need >70% for real herd immunity. We are sitting at a grand total of ~8% of our population being fully vaccinated right now and restrictions are being lifted. If people take this as a sign of this being over - then we miss out on most of those 1/3rd. Puts us less than 70% out of the gate. Factor in the people that are dead against the vaccine and we can easily spike back up with hospitalizations over 15%.

Exactly - I think it is sour grapes with that planted rumor. He wanted out for whatever reason and was going to grad transfer and rehab on his own. Someone got butt-hurt by that.

Jacob Farrell - Any News?

He played a quarter in the bowl game blowout. He was injured on a helmet to helmet hit and left the field. That was the last we have seen him. -

We are all adult enough to know what I said and it was not the strawman that it is ok to pollute other people's space. But to that point - I do think that the ability to produce energy/product somewhere OTHER than where people live is a good option. Same way i think having my trash taken out of my city and put in a non-residential location is best. Even with that trash "disappearing" from my house, I try to minimize my waste with my shopping and food choices. First - the Institute for Energy Research is just a climate change denial front. Not much of an "institute for research" as much as a lobbying group for keeping things the same. Once again, no one is calling for a "shuttering" of an industry.Oil will always have its place in our world... but hopefully only 20% of what it is currently. Second - Non-oil based electricity is a thing. It is growing in availability. For my EVs power source - I pay extra to buy energy credits from solar and wind generated electricity. That is just my personal choice. I chose a smaller range and smaller car for my EV (opposed to the Jaguar or Tesla) because I don't want to haul around a large battery when I am not going to use it. I only need to go 100 miles a day. It charges to 90% rather quickly on the Level 2 charger. Less range, less battery, less to end up in a landfill. I think smaller cars and smaller batteries are a great option -- when I need to go a long distance -- I can take a train, plane or use one of those rental car companies. BMW provides free loaner cars if you need to make a road trip - that is a nice option.

Everyone knows batteries are not pulled from thin air. Just like oil is not created in a lab with no harm. There is definitely an impact on the environment for both technologies. However only one of those does not impact the environment where the car actually resides/run/lives. Both have end of life concerns ... Where do all the dead engines end up from gasoline cars?

I have a classic car that I would love to convert to electric. I know a couple companies are starting to sell the classic Porsche components. https://insideevs.com/news/447512/ev-west-tesla-crate-motor-ls-swap/ I don't drive the project car enough (yet) to drop that kind of money for a hobby. Once my kids are never in the car with me, maybe.

I know it is a serious question, but I don't think it is completely genuine. No one claims it is a perfect technology or that it is the end game for saving the planet. However at the very least it allows for a population to pick where it wants to dump its waste, instead of gasoline engines which spew wherever they are... regardless. EV lithium batteries are being repurposed for other uses - refrigeration, lighting, backup batteries for elevators, etc. A market is created. If the end up buried in a the desert, sure, why not. Just like all the failed transmissions, radiators, mufflers and oil filters from gasoline cars - which EVs do not have. When I look at the amount of waste on my two gasoline vehicles compared to my two EV vehicles - it is hands down a less wasteful option. On my diesel engine, that sprung an "upper pan" oil leak - where did all that raw material end up? Cost me a ton of money, for sure, but I never even had to contemplate where the waste ended up.
