  1. It's all to further propagate the quaterback controversy... will it be Riley or Gio? Genius Marketing strategy!
  2. Not sure, but they teach them all the chants, all the cheers, the history of the school, traditions that sort of thing.
  3. No way those guys are like a cult... would you really want to "caw" every time you ran into a senior? That's a little much.
  4. I believe if you impose a stadium or athletic fee, it might get the kids to care because they are paying for it. Just do it. I remember paying a fee for the rec center I never got to use and a technology use fee for computers and a/v systems I worked to install all across campus. My brother who is an aggie alum said they paid hundreds in athletic fees, and still had to pay for tickets to sporting events in the form of an athletic pass. I don't think we have to go that far... let the students know the games are free is a good start to getting them there, I also think we need to make all freshman go to a fish camp much like A&m does, just dial back the crazy brain washing.
  5. Yes! That would be awesome.
  6. I was looking at the thecb website yesterday, building inventory of UNT, it is listed that the initial cost to build Fouts was $192,000. The Most expensive building on campus, the Pohl Recreation center sitting at nearly 32 mil in initial building cost. Which, if I am not mistaken, was funded by student fees, where could we use tat sort of funding?
  7. Got it, just read it incorrrectly.
  8. Please Explain... Not sure where your going with this. no sarcasm, just a general interest.
  9. beating KSU, Tulsa and Rice, That would be pretty Sweet, Hey lets throw in LSU. While we are at it. That Would be a freakin dream season. Bu t back to the original question, Either would be good wins for us.
  10. Well since UNT sucks so bad I guess we should stop hoping things change, I suppose we should all walk through life without any goals. Forget about supporting the school, it's not worth our time anyway... keep your money folks athletics doesn't need it.
  11. First off let me start by saying, I don't know much about this stuff and claim no political affiliation, but does anyone think that opec is pissed and with holding oil because Bush signed that bio fuels act? Which by the way back fired. (Rising Food Prices, which I know can be caused by the gas prices as well) Basically like a lady friend who uses sex as a weapon and withholds it when she's pissed at you. I also think if oil execs say it cost more to produce and refine oil, yet can still make 12 mil, there is obviously something wrong there and something needs to be done. If the North Texas region had a reliable form of mass transit, subway system, I would be on board.
  12. Serious question. With no major donors clammoring for change, how do we, who are not fortunate enough to be lottery winners, get the university to change it's leadership? It seems RV is untouchable because of all he's done to get title IX compliant.
  13. Until hybrid batteries become the norm, not sure he can do better than the oil guys.
  14. anything can happen...
  15. What do you guys think? Sounds crazy to me. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...ts.3f5fc40.html
  16. Where is Norah Jones when we need her?
  17. nice!!!
  18. "STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State alum Boone Pickens is making another super-sized donation to his alma mater by giving 100 million dollars today for endowed chairs at OSU. The gift is being called the largest ever for academics in Oklahoma and a state program matches donations for endowed chairs which could double the money. The billionaire Texas oilman has made previous gifts to Oklahoma State through the years that total more than 300 million dollars. The previous largest academic gift made to an Oklahoma university is thought to be the 70 million dollars given to Oral Roberts University by businessman Mart Green who founded the Christian office store chain Mardel. The largest previous gift to a state university was 50 million dollars given by the George Kaiser Family Foundation in Tulsa to the University of Oklahoma. In January 2006 Pickens gave a 165 million to OSU's athletic department." Wish we had a big donor.
  19. i'm sure checkfacts has some info on this....
  20. more women on campus = more title 9 sports... I don't know what I am saying.
  21. Sadly it's the truth, is it not? The sunbelt's reputation won't change anytime soon, unless we start knocking some of the big boys off.
  22. I don't disagree with you, but I am a hardcore stars fan so, yes I am disappointed. They had a hell of a path to get to the finals, Probably the toughest road, But why couldn't they roll out the 3rd period effort in the first and second. The Wings will take the cup, it's the lesser of two evils. But I hope Pitt wins it. I hate Pitt Less.
  23. I would rather see a 50k stadium built an d half empty than a 30k built and half empty.
  24. They are a radio sponsor on Mean Green Radio Network... wouldn't read too much into it.
  25. Pathetic effort thus far... embarrasing, after they way these guys have fought back, they put that on the ice... True Detroit is extremly talented but, show some fight, it's do or die guys... backs against the wall, trying to live another day, all the cliche's and this is all they give. I am really hoping for a better 3rd, but a 4 goal defeceit tough to make up. Yes they made it further then they were supposed to but man does it hurt, don't want to see a hand shake on our ice.
