I agree. Let's just let this incident go for now and hope there is not a repeat. We have a team to support and a season to finish on a high note.

Halftime incident w/the coaching staff

How about everybody just take a step back for a second here? Let's just let RV, DD and RF work this out for now and, if you feel the need to have input, feel free to contact them. That is your prerogative. But, I don't think we need to be bickering amongst ourselves atm. Ok, I'm off my soapbox. -

Opening Vegas Lines This Week's Games

Sad that a team that has won "1" game all season is favored to beat us -
Sweet!

10 penalties for 80 yards on us. The offsides that let them continue a drive that ended up in a score stands out to me.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...3208_recap.html DENTON, Texas (AP) - Tyrell Fenroy rushed for 102 yards and scored his third touchdown on a 1-yard run with 1:10 remaining as Louisiana-Lafayette defeated North Texas 31-28 Saturday night. Quarterback Jerry Babb had a career-high 133 yards and a touchdown to lead Louisiana-Lafayette's rushing offense, which entered the game ranked 10th nationally and finished with 327 yards. Babb had 109 passing yards. North Texas running back Patrick Cobbs had a season-high 197 yards and three second-half touchdowns. Fenroy had the key play on the drive that ended with his touchdown, catching a 19-yard pass on third-and-9 that put Louisiana-Lafayette (4-5, 3-2 Sun Belt) at the North Texas 32-yard line. The 88-yard march lasted 8:46. On the ensuing kickoff, Jonathon Vance sealed the win for the Ragin' Cajuns by recovering a Johnny Quinn fumble. Louisiana-Lafayette's Sean Comiskey broke a 21-21 tie with a 22-yard field goal on the first play of the fourth quarter, but Cobbs gave North Texas (2-6, 2-2) its first lead at 28-24 on a 9-yard run with 9:44 remaining. Cobbs had erased a 21-7 Louisiana-Lafayette lead with a 59-yard touchdown on the second play of the second half and an 8-yard scoring run midway through the third quarter. North Texas' first-half futility continued as the Ragin' Cajuns built leads of 7-0 after the first quarter and 21-7 at halftime. The Mean Green have been outscored 48-2 in the first quarter and 150-21 in the first half this season. Louisiana-Lafayette scored on its opening possession for the second consecutive game and the fourth time in its last five on Fenroy's 6-yard run. Babb added a 4-yard scoring run early in the second quarter on a drive given new life by a UNT penalty when the Ragin' Cajuns were punting. North Texas scored its first touchdown in the first half this season on a 27-yard pass from Daniel Meager to Quinn that brought North Texas within 14-7 with 6:56 left. Louisiana-Lafayette answered with Fenroy's 7-yard scoring run 1:22 before halftime. North Texas running back Jamario Thomas left the game at halftime with a strained hamstring and did not return. He is expected to play next week at Florida Atlantic.

I can't believe our only hope is pretty much for every team in the SBC to finish with a losing record. If that happens, oh my. . . . And, looking at the games left to be played, it's still very very possible
-
Basically. Even if we tie for the conference championship, we'll have a losing record so any team that finishes 6-5 will go instead of us.

FAU went for a big-name in football in hiring Howard Schnellenberger. Clearly, that was the agenda in luring Doherty. The school is moving from the low-major Atlantic Sun to the well-respected and highly competitive mid-major Sun Belt for the 2006-07 season. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?id=2208851

They're not too keen on playing us

Honestly, we've been blown out by 50ish points enough this year that LSU's fans are not going to be happy with a 50 point win. They're going to be pushing the team to really throttle us. . . .

I'm staying away from this one. . . .

CUSA Poll- Who should we add if Tulane drops out?
MootPoint replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
There have been announcements that it is being built. There just hasn't been an announcement saying groundbreaking will occur on X date. You generally don't get an announcement about a groundbreaking until much closer to the actual date because X date depends on a lot of factors. Also, I would assume that part of the reason you are not hearing anything is that it is really not appropriate to announce something that is not completely under UNT's control. The decision on timing is really still up to the Outlaws since they are the ones building the stadium and we'll be happy whether they start on X date, X date + 2 days, X date + 2 weeks, etc. Remember, the Outlaws are building the stadium, not UNT. Why would we be the one's to announce the Outlaws schedule for construction? Imagine if X company decided to build something next to the Radisson and got approval to build on UNT's land and UNT would be allowed to hold classes there. Would UNT be the ones to announce the construction schedule for the new building or would it be X company?
